Dünyanın değişen dengeleri, dengeler oluşurken meydana gelen devrimler ve karşıdevrimler, yeni baştan kurulan bir ülkenin yaşadığı sarsıntılar, etnik ve dinsel yapısı hızla değişen bir coğrafyada sınıf mücadelesinin ve sosyalizmin tabanını oluşturan kitlelerin ülkeden ayrılışı TKP’nin oluşumunun içsel ilişkileridir. TKP’nin kuruluş sürecinin tamamlandığı 1925 Akaretler Kongresi, Şeyh Sait İsyanı’nın patlak vermesiyle “ulusal mesele”nin çetrefil hale geldiği günlerde toplanmış, Mart 1925’te başlayan Takrir-i Sükûn dönemi TKP üzerinde büyük bir baskı yaratmış, bu baskıcı ortam TKP raporlarında “terörcü diktatörlük” olarak nitelendirilmiştir. TKP, kavurucu bir tarihsel kesitte kurulur ve yurdunda ağır bir baskı altında tutulurken Komintern çatısı altında ona ilişkin tartışmalar yaşanmaktadır. Bu tartışmalar, Komintern’in Temmuz 1924 tarihli 5. Kongresi’nde benimsenen ve tüm komünist partilere önerilen Bolşevikleşme yöneliminin yansımalarıdır. TKP’nin 1919-1925 dönemi, Türkiye Komünist Partisi’nin Kuruluşu başlıklı birinci ciltte ele alınmıştı. Bu cilde konu olan 1925-1928 döneminde, TKP, bir iç tartışmalar ve fikir ayrılıkları sürecinden geçmektedir. TKP içindeki tartışmaların odağında onun Komintern çizgisiyle uyumlu bir kitle partisine dönüşmesi ve Kemalizm ile kuracağı ilişkinin niteliği yatar. Türkiye Komünist Partisi’nin Bolşevikleşmesi, 1925-1928’de önemli simalara, olaylara, toplantılara, eylemlere, yayınlara ve yargılamalara ilişkin tarihsel belgeler ve mektuplar bulacaksınız. Kitabın önemli yönlerinden biri de TKP’nin karmaşık tarihini anlamayı kolaylaştıracak bir yol haritası ve kronoloji içermesi.

The book concerns the Soviet effort during the 1920s to make contact with - and if possible revolutionize - the European labour movement, by first establishing a special relationship with the British Trades Union Congress. The ultimate failure of that effort, after the collapse of the general strike in 1926, inspired Trotsky to try one last time to oust Stalin, a confrontation that led to utter collapse of the Trotskyite opposition in 1927-28. The author suggests the failure of this particular 'united front' effort was a major factor in the sectarianism and isolationism of the Communist movement from 1928 to 1934, and thus had a significant affect on the rise of the Nazi party in Germany.

This volume investigates the ambition of the Red International of Labour Unions to radicalize the global waterfront during the interwar period. The main vehicle was the International Propaganda Committee of Transport Workers, replaced in 1930 by the International of Seamen and Harbour Workers as well as their agitation and propaganda centres, the International Harbour Bureaus and the International Seamen’s Clubs. The book scrutinizes their solidarity campaigns in support of local and national strikes as well as on their agitation against discrimination, segregation and racism within the unions, their demands to organize non-white maritime transport workers, and their calls for engagement in anti-fascist, anti-war and anti-imperialist actions.
