Chemical reaction engineering is concerned with the exploitation of chemical reactions on a commercial scale. It's goal is the successful design and operation of chemical reactors. This text emphasizes qualitative arguments, simple design methods, graphical procedures, and frequent comparison of capabilities of the major reactor types. Simple ideas are treated first, and are then extended to the more complex.

Physical Chemistry written by Ira N. Levine and has been published by McGraw-Hill Companies this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002 with Chemistry, Physical and theoretical categories.

This fifth edition gives students an in-depth fundamental treatment of physical chemistry which is made easy to follow by providing full step-by-step derivations, clear explanations and by avoiding advanced mathematics unfamiliar to students. Necessary maths and physics have thorough review sections, and all worked examples are now followed by a practice exercise. The material on quantum mechanics has been substantially revised. The book is organized so that students can see the broad structure and logic of physical chemistry rather than a mixture of formulas and ideas presented randomly, and a fair number of biological applications are included.

Optimal Control Of Distributed Systems Theory And Applications written by A. V. Fursikov and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999-11-16 with Mathematics categories.

This volume presents the analysis of optimal control problems for systems described by partial differential equations. The book offers simple and clear exposition of main results in this area. The methods proposed by the author cover cases where the controlled system corresponds to well-posed or ill-posed boundary value problems, which can be linear or nonlinear. The uniqueness problem for the solution of nonlinear optimal control problems is analyzed in various settings. Solutions of several previously unsolved problems are given. In addition, general methods are applied to the study of two problems connected with optimal control of fluid flows described by the Navier-Stokes equations.

Whether different types of costs are to be reduced, benefits to be maximized or scarce resources to be managed, scheduling theory provides intelligent methods for practitioners and scientists. The just-in-time (JIT) production philosophy has enriched the classical scheduling theory with models that consider characteristics such as inventory costs, set-up times, lot sizing, or maintenance. This edited volume considers the specifics of just-in-time systems. It provides knowledge and insights on recent advances in scheduling theory where just-in-time aspects are considered. Contributions on models, theory, algorithms, and applications, that bring the theory up-to-date on the state-of-the-art of JIT systems are presented. Professionals, researchers and graduate students will find this book useful.

The Gamma Function written by Emil Artin and has been published by Courier Dover Publications this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-01-28 with Mathematics categories.

This brief monograph on the gamma function was designed by the author to fill what he perceived as a gap in the literature of mathematics, which often treated the gamma function in a manner he described as both sketchy and overly complicated. Author Emil Artin, one of the twentieth century's leading mathematicians, wrote in his Preface to this book, "I feel that this monograph will help to show that the gamma function can be thought of as one of the elementary functions, and that all of its basic properties can be established using elementary methods of the calculus." Generations of teachers and students have benefitted from Artin's masterly arguments and precise results. Suitable for advanced undergraduates and graduate students of mathematics, his treatment examines functions, the Euler integrals and the Gauss formula, large values of x and the multiplication formula, the connection with sin x, applications to definite integrals, and other subjects.

Micropolar Fluids written by Grzegorz Lukaszewicz and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Micropolar fluids are fluids with microstructure. They belong to a class of fluids with nonsymmetric stress tensor that we shall call polar fluids, and include, as a special case, the well-established Navier-Stokes model of classical fluids that we shall call ordinary fluids. Physically, micropolar fluids may represent fluids consisting of rigid, randomly oriented (or spherical) particles suspended in a viscous medium, where the deformation of fluid particles is ignored. The model of micropolar fluids introduced in [65] by C. A. Eringen is worth studying as a very well balanced one. First, it is a well-founded and significant generalization of the classical Navier-Stokes model, covering, both in theory and applications, many more phenomena than the classical one. Moreover, it is elegant and not too complicated, in other words, man ageable to both mathematicians who study its theory and physicists and engineers who apply it. The main aim of this book is to present the theory of micropolar fluids, in particular its mathematical theory, to a wide range of readers. The book also presents two applications of micropolar fluids, one in the theory of lubrication and the other in the theory of porous media, as well as several exact solutions of particular problems and a numerical method. We took pains to make the presentation both clear and uniform.

Preparing students for further study of both the classical works and current research, this is an accessible text for students who have had a course in real and complex analysis and understand the basic properties of L p spaces. It is sprinkled liberally with examples, historical notes, citations, and original sources, and over 450 exercises provide practice in the use of the results developed in the text through supplementary examples and counterexamples.

Integration Ii written by N. Bourbaki and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-06-29 with Mathematics categories.

Integration is the sixth and last of the books that form the core of the Bourbaki series; it draws abundantly on the preceding five Books, especially General Topology and Topological Vector Spaces, making it a culmination of the core six. The power of the tool thus fashioned is strikingly displayed in Chapter II of the author's Théories Spectrales, an exposition, in a mere 38 pages, of abstract harmonic analysis and the structure of locally compact abelian groups. The first volume of the English translation comprises Chapters 1-6; the present volume completes the translation with the remaining Chapters 7-9. Chapters 1-5 received very substantial revisions in a second edition, including changes to some fundamental definitions. Chapters 6-8 are based on the first editions of Chapters 1-5. The English edition has given the author the opportunity to correct misprints, update references, clarify the concordance of Chapter 6 with the second editions of Chapters 1-5, and revise the definition of a key concept in Chapter 6 (measurable equivalence relations).
