Seminar paper from the year 2012 in the subject Business economics - Offline Marketing and Online Marketing, grade: 2,0, European Business School London / Regent's College, course: MGT6B2 - Luxury Brand Management and Interantional Events, language: English, abstract: This report analyses the skincare brand La Prairie based on theoretical concepts around luxury brand management. It also features a brief analysis of Sweden's potential as a market for luxury goods and proposes a launch strategy for the brand's skincare products in this market. As it is practically impossible to be the only supplier of certain product category in today's globalised market place, this definition emphasises the importance of creating a unique position for the luxury brand that makes consumers perceive it as incomparable to potential competitors. With regards to portraying an image of superiority in terms of scarcity, sophistication and good taste, Kapferer and Bastien introduce the "Anti-Laws of Marketing" to be followed in luxury branding, which mainly aim at building and maintain the brand's equity by evoking impressions of the brand's offerings being highly exclusive and desirable. By following the majority of these anti-laws, superpremium beauty brand La Prairie has managed to establish itself in a position that implies superiority across many international markets. Taking into account the importance ascribed to a strong global presence by Chevalier and Mazzalovo in terms of the "radiance" aspect of brand equity, it seems curious that the brand has not yet launched in Sweden's lifestyle and tourism hub Stockholm. The city boasts two high-end department stores (NK and Ahléns) which would be fitting locations for the brand's store-in-store concept.

The 21st century technological development is revolutionizing medicine and health care, bringing new hopes to human suffering by offering cures and treatments which were unthinkable a few decades ago. This is where anti-ageing medicine finds its niche. Anti-ageing medicine aims at slowing, arresting, and reversing phenomena associated with ageing by merging biotechnological innovation and engineered solutions. Ideally, by means of the newest medical technology, the "body machinery" should be kept fit and at peak performance all life long. Early detection of age-related dysfunction should thus be "fixed" at any age with interventions such as metabolic fine tuning, enhancement, regeneration, restoration or replacement of "body parts" (i.e. organs, skin, bone or muscle). It covers a vast array of domains: from cell therapy to pharmaceutical interventions, from bio-surgery to aesthetic surgery, from human enhancement to fortified food, from smart housing and robots to toxic-free environments. Anti-ageing medicine holds promises but also significant risks and safety issues which are addressesd in this book. It presents the latest scientific evidence on what works or does not work. It also provides public policy recommendations to ensure the protection of consumers and their rights while encouraging research and development. This book is intended for academics, health professionals, business persons, consumers and policy-makers interested in the latest evidence and ethical issues about anti-ageing medicine.

Colour Coded written by Constance Backhouse and has been published by University of Toronto Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999-11-20 with Social Science categories.

Historically Canadians have considered themselves to be more or less free of racial prejudice. Although this conception has been challenged in recent years, it has not been completely dispelled. In Colour-Coded, Constance Backhouse illustrates the tenacious hold that white supremacy had on our legal system in the first half of this century, and underscores the damaging legacy of inequality that continues today. Backhouse presents detailed narratives of six court cases, each giving evidence of blatant racism created and enforced through law. The cases focus on Aboriginal, Inuit, Chinese-Canadian, and African-Canadian individuals, taking us from the criminal prosecution of traditional Aboriginal dance to the trial of members of the 'Ku Klux Klan of Kanada.' From thousands of possibilities, Backhouse has selected studies that constitute central moments in the legal history of race in Canada. Her selection also considers a wide range of legal forums, including administrative rulings by municipal councils, criminal trials before police magistrates, and criminal and civil cases heard by the highest courts in the provinces and by the Supreme Court of Canada. The extensive and detailed documentation presented here leaves no doubt that the Canadian legal system played a dominant role in creating and preserving racial discrimination. A central message of this book is that racism is deeply embedded in Canadian history despite Canada's reputation as a raceless society. Winner of the Joseph Brant Award, presented by the Ontario Historical Society

Culture Clash written by Jean Donaldson and has been published by Dogwise Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-06-01 with Dogs categories.

The most thought provoking book ever written on dog behavior and training Generations of dogs have been labeled training-lemons for requiring actual motivation when all along they were perfectly normal. Numerous other completely and utterly normal dogs have been branded as canine misfits simply because they grew up to act like dogs. Barking, chewing, sniffing, licking, jumping up and occasionally, (just like people), having arguments, is as normal and natural for dogs as wagging tails and burying bones. However, all dogs need to be taught how to modify their normal and natural behaviors to adjust to human culture. Sadly, all to often, when the dog's way of life conflicts with human rules and standards, many dogs are discarded and summarily put to death. That's quite the Culture Clash. Simply, the best dog book I have ever read! The Culture Clash is utterly unique, fascinating to the extreme and literally overflowing with oodles of useful, how-to information. Jean Donaldson's refreshing new perspective on the relationship between people and dogs had redefined the state of the art of dog-friendly dog training.
