Introduction To Random Time And Quantum Randomness New Edition written by Kai Lai Chung and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-05-28 with Mathematics categories.

This book is made up of two essays on the role of time in probability and quantum physics. In the first one, K L Chung explains why, in his view, probability theory starts where random time appears. This idea is illustrated in various probability schemes and the deep impact of those random times on the theory of the stochastic process is shown. In the second essay J-C Zambrini shows why quantum physics is not a regular probabilistic theory, but also why stochastic analysis provides new tools for analyzing further the meaning of Feynman's path integral approach and a number of foundational issues of quantum physics far beyond what is generally considered. The role of the time parameter, in this theory, is critically re-examined and a fresh way to approach the long-standing problem of the quantum time observable is suggested.

This volume highlights recent developments of stochastic analysis with a wide spectrum of applications, including stochastic differential equations, stochastic geometry, and nonlinear partial differential equations. While modern stochastic analysis may appear to be an abstract mixture of classical analysis and probability theory, this book shows that, in fact, it can provide versatile tools useful in many areas of applied mathematics where the phenomena being described are random. The geometrical aspects of stochastic analysis, often regarded as the most promising for applications, are specially investigated by various contributors to the volume.

This unique volume presents a collection of the extensive journal publications written by Kai Lai Chung over a span of 70-odd years. It was produced to celebrate his 90th birthday. The selection is only a subset of the many contributions that he made throughout his prolific career. Another volume, Chance and Choice, published by World Scientific in 2004, contains yet another subset, with four articles in common with this volume. Kai Lai Chung''s research contributions have had a major influence on several areas in probability. Among his most significant works are those related to sums of independent random variables, Markov chains, time reversal of Markov processes, probabilistic potential theory, Brownian excursions, and gauge theorems for the SchrAdinger equation. As Kai Lai Chung''s contributions spawned critical new developments, this volume also contains retrospective and perspective views provided by collaborators and other authors who themselves advanced the areas of probability and mathematics."

Direction Of Time written by Sergio Albeverio and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12-09 with Science categories.

This edited book presents the problems of time and direction from an interdisciplinary point of view, concentrating in particular on the following relations: • Time and physics • Time, philosophy and psychology • Time, mathematics and information theory It is a unique contribution by philosophers and scientists who are active in mathematics, physics, biology, engineering, information theory and psychology. Questions such as the existence of a Big Bang, the neurobiological basis regarding the coexistence of free will and determinism, intercultural aspects of time, mathematical models of time, psychopathological features of time, and micro reversibility versus macroscopic irreversibility are studied. It also provides a truly interdisciplinary study of the problematic 'arrow of time'.

Non Autonomous Kato Classes And Feynman Kac Propagators written by Archil Gulisashvili and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006 with Mathematics categories.

"This book provides an introduction to propagator theory. Propagators, or evolution families, are two-parameter analogues of semigroups of operators. Propagators are encountered in analysis, mathematical physics, partial differential equations, and probability theory. They are often used as mathematical models of systems evolving in a changing environment. A unifying theme of the book is the theory of Feynman-Kac propagators associated with time-dependent measures from non-autonomous Kato classes. In applications, a Feynman-Kac propagator describes the evolution of a physical system in the presence of time-dependent absorption and excitation. The book is suitable as an advanced textbook for graduate courses." "Readership: Graduate students and researchers in mathematical analysis, partial differential equations, and probability theory."--BOOK JACKET.

The seminar on Stochastic Analysis and Mathematical Physics of the Ca tholic University of Chile, started in Santiago in 1984, has being followed and enlarged since 1995 by a series of international workshops aimed at pro moting a wide-spectrum dialogue between experts on the fields of classical and quantum stochastic analysis, mathematical physics, and physics. This volume collects most of the contributions to the Fourth Interna tional Workshop on Stochastic Analysis and Mathematical Physics (whose Spanish abbreviation is "ANESTOC"; in English, "STAMP"), held in San tiago, Chile, from January 5 to 11, 2000. The workshop style stimulated a vivid exchange of ideas which finally led to a number of written con tributions which I am glad to introduce here. However, we are currently submitted to a sort of invasion of proceedings books, and we do not want to increase our own shelves with a new one of the like. On the other hand, the editors of conference proceedings have to use different exhausting and com pulsive strategies to persuade authors to write and provide texts in time, a task which terrifies us. As a result, this volume is aimed at smoothly start ing a new kind of publication. What we would like to have is a collection of books organized like our seminar.

Markov Processes Feller Semigroups And Evolution Equations written by J. A. van Casteren and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011 with Mathematics categories.

The book provides a systemic treatment of time-dependent strong Markov processes with values in a Polish space. It describes its generators and the link with stochastic differential equations in infinite dimensions. In a unifying way, where the square gradient operator is employed, new results for backward stochastic differential equations and long-time behavior are discussed in depth. The book also establishes a link between propagators or evolution families with the Feller property and time-inhomogeneous Markov processes. This mathematical material finds its applications in several branches of the scientific world, among which are mathematical physics, hedging models in financial mathematics, and population models.

The International Conference Zaragoza-Pau on Mathematics and its Applications was organized by the Departamento de Matem.tica Aplicada, the Departamento de M.todos Estad.sticos and the Departamento de Matem.ticas, all of them from the Universidad de Zaragoza (Spain), and the Laboratoire de Math.matiques et de leurs Applications, from the Universit. de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (France). This conference has been held every two years since 1989. The aim of this conference is to present recent advances in Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Pure Mathematics, putting special emphasis on subjects linked to petroleum engineering and environmental problems. The Sixteenth Conference took place in Jaca (Spain) from 7th to 9th September 2022. The official opening ceremony was graced by the presence of the Vice–Chancellor for Academic Policy of the University of Zaragoza, D. Jos. .ngel Castellanos G.mez, and Vice–Chancellor of the Research Commission of the University of Pau, Mme. Isabelle Baraille. During those three days, 111 mathematicians, coming from different universities, research institutes or the industrial sector, attended 8 plenary lectures, 69 contributed talks and a poster session with 7 posters. We note that in this edition there were 11 mini-symposia, five of them co-organized by colleagues from the Universidad de Zaragoza and the Universit. de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour.
