Professional demands on school administrators continue to multiply exponentially. Effective administrators require solid preparation programs, continuing professional development, extensive experience, mentoring, and the support of supervisor and school colleagues. Chapter 1, "Intuitive Ways of Knowing," references research on intuition, including information about levels of intuitive input, and the different stages involved in intuitive explorations. Chapter 2, "Developing Behaviors of Intuitive Leadership," examines intuitive leaders and their abilities to "read" the environment. Some behaviors characteristic of intuitive leaders include recognition of timing, a willingness to act, understanding the importance of shared values, embracing shared leadership, trust, collaboration, and a balance in personal and positional political power. Chapter 3, "Powerful Communication: Reading the Silent Language," demonstrates that communication dexterity is paramount to a leader's success, and provides insight into several forms of communication, including listening, speaking, writing, body language, and silence. Intuitive skills can be applied to practical situations involving the art of communication. Chapter 4, "Intuition and the Paradoxes of Leadership," addresses the major paradoxes of leadership, including the leader-versus-manager orientation, autocrat-versus-indecisive decision-making styles, "facilitator-versus-obstructor," and delegating-versus-leader-centered approaches to solving problems. Leaders must provide opportunities for both themselves and their constituents to become skilled in problem solving and decision making. Leaders must empower the staff to make possible the delegation of authority. Effective leaders should realize the important benefits that result from creating collaborative climates. Born into a family of intuitives, channelers and healers set the stage for a lifetime exploring the phenomena of knowing without knowing how we know. While taking yoga teacher training in Mexico to mark the crossing of her fiftieth birthday, the author received a vision from an ancient feminine presence known as The Grandmothers, encouraging her to open her heart in support of a transformation in consciousness. Albert Einstein relied upon his intuitive insight for solving complex problems regarding the nature of the Universe, but for some reason this gift of intuitive intelligence remains silenced and hidden within the consciousness of many. Why? Children are born with a natural telepathy type consciousness that can be supported and nurtured by parents and family. Science is catching up with ancient knowledge, bridging worldviews and giving credibility to other ways of knowing, balancing masculine with feminine and integrating spirit with matter. Intuitive leadership is the idea that we are all leaders who can find the answers to problems within ourselves, creating change as inspired by our dreams and our intuitions. A framework for intuitive decision-making is included that can be used by everyone. This is a guide only as intuition is holistic, arising individually from right-brain processes and feminine ways of knowing which are mysterious, non-linear, non-logical, and participatory in nature. Humanity is going through a radical transformation that requires new ways of thinking, and intuitive leadership is a gift that everyone can reclaim as we dream new dreams of Earth.

Leading With Sense written by Valérie Gauthier and has been published by Stanford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-08-13 with Business & Economics categories.

Today's business environment demands a new approach to leadership, one that effectively connects individuals and organizations in the midst of change. Leading with Sense offers a new, practical approach to meeting this challenge. Drawing on her experience as a poetic translator and her expertise in cross-cultural leadership, Valérie Gauthier outlines the tenets of savoir-relier: a framework for building sensible, trustworthy, and lasting relationships that enables leaders to value difference, work across boundaries, and navigate complex systems. Savoir-relier teaches leaders to tap into their senses in the midst of strategizing, allowing them to act intuitively and rationally at once. Few leaders dare to claim that their "gut feelings" are critical to their decisions. But, by engaging their intuition, they are able to draw on experience, better appreciate their environment, build confidence, and summon the courage to tackle the task at hand. Leading with Sense trains readers to be poets and translators in the business context. With savoir-relier, we can write our own stories, deciphering the challenges that we face with acumen, humility, and respect. Using real-world examples of this pioneering approach, Gauthier provides readers with methods and tools for cultivating a savoir-relier mindset to build positive relationships, nurture diversity, drive mindful innovation, and foster success.
