O livro Invisíveis, mas necessárias: mulheres trabalhadoras da mineração, tenta desvendar a inserção precária das mulheres no mercado de trabalho e a persistência de ocupações e atividades socialmente feminizadas ou masculinizadas, a partir do cenário de uma profissão historicamente masculina. Para isso, garimpamos informações escondidas e invisibilizadas em uma mina a céu aberto e outra subterrânea, além de uma empresa pública de pesquisa, todas do setor mineral formal. As observações, depoimentos, entrevistas, resgate de documentos com mulheres e homens trabalhadores, fruto de pesquisa doutoral da autora Anabelle Carrilho (2016), estão aqui reunidos e subsidiaram uma análise que revela a profunda desigualdade de gênero nesse universo, ainda no século XXI. A exploração e opressão específicos do trabalho das mulheres envolveu principalmente desvalorização velada, exigências técnicas e emocionais constantes, sabotagens, assédios, invisibilidade, entre outros mecanismos de expulsão individuais ou institucionais sofridos pelas trabalhadoras. Desse modo, a divisão sexual do trabalho é reproduzida e apropriada em um setor fundamental ao funcionamento e desenvolvimento das sociedades capitalistas. Identificou-se, então, que os principais obstáculos para a feminização da mineração são atualmente mais simbólicos do que materiais, advindos da reprodução de contraditórios discursos associados às masculinidades. Compreender isso que chamamos de feminização, em espaços tradicionalmente masculinizados, é importante para a compreensão dos desafios gerais colocados ao labor das mulheres nas atuais relações de trabalho capitalistas. Porém, é necessário também questionar o setor mineral e o capitalismo como um todo. A centralidade material e simbólica da mineração para o nível de desenvolvimento das sociedades capitalistas atuais, constituídas sobre a exploração humana e a degradação ambiental, são temas que questionam também aos feminismos acerca de um projeto societário mais amplo. Portanto, o presente livro volta-se não apenas àquelas pessoas interessadas pelos estudos de gênero e feministas ou pela mineração, mas a todas que se interessem pelo questionamento e pela superação dos mecanismos de exploração e opressão humanas no geral e das mulheres em particular.

[Introduction] This document presents the results of ILO research on the global magnitude of child labour. It introduces new global estimates for economic activity by children and child labour in the sense of ILO Conventions Nos 138 and 182. There are no national data to be found in this document. The lowest aggregate level presented are the major world regions. All estimates are for the benchmark year 2000. Child labour is a sensitive subject and numbers on its magnitude play an important role in global policy-making and advocacy efforts. The research was conducted in acute awareness of this responsability and used well-proven statistical methodologies in an attempt to keep error margins to a minimum. All sources, underlying definitions and methodological steps are explained in detail. The document is devided into three main sections. Section 1 presents the main findings. A invisibilidade do trabalho escravo doméstico é o tema do presente livro, no qual se propõe analisar como o afeto presente na relação de serviço doméstico mantém invisíveis condições de exploração e perpetua a posição de subalternidade das mulheres que desempenham esse trabalho. Para tanto, o estudo, que é interseccional, está dividido em quatro partes. Na primeira, apresenta-se um giro na História do trabalho doméstico no Brasil Imperial. Na segunda, analisa-se o conceito do afeto e da subalternidade, mostrando a materialização do primeiro no espaço da casa. Na terceira, apresentam-se os binarismos de raça, gênero e classe nos indicadores do trabalho doméstico e discute-se como o afeto manifestado no "quase da família" subalterniza e impõe fronteiras no cotidiano de trabalhadoras domésticas. Na quarta, examina-se o fenômeno do trabalho escravo, analisando os poucos casos de trabalho escravo doméstico no Brasil, a fim de evidenciar o afeto como fator de silêncio e exclusão. A obra é fruto da minha dissertação de Mestrado apresentada à Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) em agosto de 2021 e traz instigantes reflexões sobre o papel do afeto na perpetuação do trabalho escravo doméstico.
