About The ABCs of Leadership: Leadership Guiding Principles Leadership is growing ever more critical in all aspects of life, as the modern world presents each of us with an array of problems that need solving. I hope that readers will recognize that the skills and attributes of effective leaders (and followers) are within reach for all of us. This simple recognition may encourage people to attain the core attributes, behaviors, and characteristics of leaders, allowing more of us to live lives of service, sacrifice, and success. Leadership Guiding Principles features a chapter for each letter in the alphabet. Play on words makes it easy for learners to remember the attributes of effective leaders, while also guiding them to apply the techniques discussed in the real world. Leadership Guiding Principles communicates enjoyably the values, ethics, and philosophy that underpin effective leaders’ style and the behavior that leaders use to shape their environments. Leadership Guiding Principles facilitates personal development and growth in a straightforward way, avoiding the unnecessary complications sometimes introduced by complex leadership training sessions and books. Throughout, it emphasizes the concept that everyone can become a leader. Leadership Guiding Principles focuses on core leadership descriptors that individuals can use to become better leaders and followers. In homes, workplaces, and communities, these behaviors improve interpersonal relationships and the probability of achieving desired outcomes. Leadership Guiding Principles has been used successfully by the author to build and acculturate teams, compel audiences during keynote speeches, and espouse her leadership style and vision in a manner that allows others to reach their goals. Leadership Guiding Principles offers an easy to read, simple to apply guide and self-development tool that leaders can use to create high-performing, engaged, committed, and trust-based teams. Leadership Guiding Principles uses vignettes to highlight real-life applications and inspiring quotes from well-known leaders to reinforce key concepts. The higher you aspire and desire to achieve, the more you need leadership skills.

The ABCs of Human Survival examines the effect of militant nationalism and the lawlessness of powerful states on the well-being of individuals, local communities, and global citizenship. Based on the analysis of world events, Dr. Arthur Clark presents militant nationalism as a pathological pattern of thinking that threatens our security, while emphasizing effective democracy and international law as indispensable frameworks for human protection. Within the contexts of history, sociology, philosophy, and spirituality, The ABCs of Human Survival calls into question the assumptions of consumer culture and offers, as an alternative, strategies to improve overall well-being through the important choices we make as individuals.

Abcs Of The Christian Life written by G. K. Chesterton and has been published by Ave Maria Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-08-11 with Religion categories.

Aside from C. S. Lewis, no other Christian writer of the twentieth century has had more influence on faith and understanding than the enigmatic, larger-than-life G. K. Chesterton. This anthology combines twenty-six of the most essential passages from his works—from “A” for asceticism to “Z” for Zion—offering an unprecedented roundup of Chesterton’s ideas on the Christian life. Why does it make good sense to be Catholic in the modern world? How might a Christian balance the feasts of saints with Christ’s call to asceticism? What is useful about holy foolishness? What’s dangerous about “comparative religion”? G. K. Chesterton, whose enduring legacy is as a Christian thinker and apologist, offers his thoughts on these topics and more in this unique anthology of his work. Chesterton converted to Catholicism midway through his career of writing some of his century’s most important spiritual and theological works, including Orthodoxy, Saint Thomas Aquinas: The Dumb Ox, and Saint Francis of Assisi. He is known for having written many memorable sentences—he was a master of witty one-liners—but as this book demonstrates for the first time, Chesterton also penned some of the best long passages of Christian literature in the history of the faith. You’ll come away with a better understanding not only of Chesterton, but of the Christian faith as well.

The Abcs Of Classic Hollywood written by Robert Beverley Ray and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008 with Juvenile Nonfiction categories.

Speaking about the kind of filmmaking now known as Classic Hollywood, the most popular and influential cinema ever invented, Vincente Minnelli once gave away its secret: "I feel that a picture that stays with you is made up of a hundred or more hidden things. They're things that the audience is not conscious of, but that accumulate." How would we go about finding those things? What method would enable us to retrieve them, and by doing so, to understand better how Hollywood films got made? The ABCs of Classic Hollywood attempts to answer those questions by looking closely at four movies from the 1930-1945 period when the American Studio System reached the peak of its economic and cultural power: Grand Hotel, The Philadelphia Story, The Maltese Falcon, and Meet Me in St. Louis. To avoid the predictable generalizations that have plagued Film Studies, Ray works with the movies' details, treated as initially mysterious, but promising, clues: e.g., Grand Hotel's coffin and room assignments; The Philadelphia Story's diving board and license plate PA55; The Maltese Falcon's clocks and missing bed; Meet Me in St. Louis's violinist and ribboned cat. By producing at least 26 entries for each of these films (one for every letter of the alphabet), Ray demonstrates that a movie's details contain the record of the work and ideas that produced them, the endless negotiation between commercial efficiency and seductive enchantment. In our unconscious memories, we recognize something in the movies, something tantalizing and just out of reach. This book unlocks those memories, making them conscious and explicit, so that they will help us understand the most powerful and important storytelling system ever designed.
