After Madinah State established by Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Pakistan is the only state in the world which has come into existence in the name of Islam. We separated from a United One India demand and concept of the Hindu-dominated Indian National Congress Party. But unfortunately, no serious effort was made by the rulers of Pakistan during the last over 70 years of its existence to Islamize the country. Tens of thousands of people were killed during Partition of India. Sacrifices of lives and properties were made to get an Islamic Pakistan. But alas, it took 9 years for our Constituent Assembly to pass an Islamic Constitution in 1956. India had finalizedit Constitution within one year in 1948. Why it took 9 years in Pakistan. There was an ideological struggle between Secularism and Islamism. Our Seculare burreaucrat, politicians and Military Generals were opposed to an Islamic constitution They wanted to copy Ataturk Modl of Turkey to shun away all relgion from the political, social and economic life of Pakistan. But our early leaders like Quaid-e-Aam, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Liaquat Ali Kha, Khawaja Naimuddin and Choudhry Mohammad Ali somehow succeeded in naming our country as 'Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in passing Objectives Resolution that Pakistan will be an Islamic State. Finally the Constitution was approved which included a clause in it, "No Laws will be made repugnant to Quran and Sunnah" But again it was soon abrogated by a Military dictator Ayub Khan in 1958 Then again Bhutto restored it in 1973.However no one cared to Islamize the country. Gen. Zia-ul-haq made an attempt by promulgating Islamic Hudood Laws after consulting with all available Islamic scholars in Pakistan and in the Arab world like Dr. Hasan Al-Duwlaibi and others. It was running successfully for 29 years without any complaint or protest from any quarter. But again another Secular Military dictator, Pervaiz Musharraf, abrogated it. See the story of this abrogation in this book I have pointed out all the flaws of this abrogation in it.Merits of Shariah have also been highlighted in the 3rd Part of this book.
