Das "Jahrbuch für Lebensphilosophie" ist ein freiheitlich-demokratisches Forum für Denkerinnen und Denker, die dem offenen lebensphilosophischen Diskurs nahestehen. Das Thema des zehnten Jahrbuchs lautet: "Leben, lieben, aufbegehren - Sozialismus des befreiten Herzens". Eine Einführung des Herausgebers erläutert und begründet diese historisch gewordene und weiter werdende Themenstellung. Dieses Jahrbuch ist ein Lesebuch der besonderen Art: mit Texten zur sozialistischen, pazifistischen und anarchistischen Lebensphilosophie. Mit vergangenen und oft auch vergessenen Texten, die zu authentisch und kämpferisch, zu menschlich und menschlich-schön sind, um ganz in der Versenkung zu verschwinden. In diesen Texten leuchtet eine Morgenröte auf. Es ist die Morgenröte eines menschen- und naturgerechteren Lebens, einer selbstbestimmteren sozialhumanistischen Menschwerdung. Aller Parteipolitik und allem Blockdenken zuvor geht es um einen undogmatischen Sozialismus mit Herz und Kopf und Hand. Im Zentrum steht dabei die Frage nach einer Lebens-Liebes-Kunst. Zu Wort kommen: Johann Gottfried Herder, Robert Burns, Bettina von Arnim, George Sand, Pierre-Joseph Proudhon, Ferdinand Freiligrath, Michail Bakunin, Malwida von Meysenbug, Alexander Herzen, Karl und Albert Grün, Walt Whitman, Gustav Landauer, Tolstoi, Pjotr Kropotkin, Bertha von Suttner, Irma von Troll-Borostyani, Jacques Novicow, Oscar Wilde, Rosa Mayreder und Alfred Fried. The word ‘archaic’ derives from the Greek arkhaios, which in turn is related to the word archē, meaning ‘principle’, ‘origin’, or ‘cause’; the notion of ecstasy, or ekstasis, implies standing outside or beyond oneself, a self-transcendence. How these two concepts are articulated and co-implicated constitutes the core question underlying this edited collection, which examines both the present day and antiquity in order to trace the insistent presence of the ecstatic amid the archaic.
