Runsaasti kuvitettu, arkistolähteisiin, haastatteluihin ja tutkimuskirjallisuuteen perustuva teos on kattava tietopaketti, jollaista ei Suomessa ole aiemmin julkaistu. Jallu on romanttisten reissumiesten ja rajujen rokkareiden juoma, jota nautitaan hyvässä seurassa, pilke silmäkulmassa. Mutta kuinka siitä tuli sellainen? Tähän kysymykseen vastaavat mm. They emigrated sometime after the birth of their fourth child in 1881 and settled in Houghton County, Michigan. They homesteaded in Askel, Baraga County, Michigan in 1896. Herman died in 1916.
