Buku “Jejak Langkah Abah Faqih” ini adalah sebuah upaya kami dalam menjaga keautentikan sebuah sejarah yang pernah ditorehkan oleh KH. Faqih Muntaha terhadap perannya dalam memperjuangkan ajaran Islam yang berkebudayaan baik di bidang pendidikan, keagamaan, ataupun di dalam kemasyarakatan. Abah Faqih adalah penyejuk umat, lautan ilmu yang tak akan habis jika kita timba. Kegigihan Abah Faqih dalam menyelami setiap sendi kehidupan bisa kita lihat dari hasil perjuangnnya dalam mengembangkan pondok pesantren sampai pendidikan formal dan membuat siapapun akan merasa terenyuh setiap melihat jasa-jasa serta kemuliaan akhlak beliau. Kontribusinya di berbagai bidang kemasyarakatan telah membuat namanya pantas untuk disebut sebagai seorang ulama yang ikut andil besar dalam memperjuangkan agama Islam khususnya di Wonosobo. Di kalangan masyarakat Abah Faqih selalu menjadi penengah dalam segala persoalan, kedermawanan dan keikhlasan Abah Faqih dalam membantu orang-orang yang membutuhkan tidak hanya karena orang tersebut memiliki hubungan keluarga dangan Abah Faqih, namun hal itu Abah Faqih berikan kepada semua orang yang sedang membutuhkan pertolongan. Sikap dan akhlak Abah Faqih bisa menjadi sebuah pelajaran bagi kita sebagai seorang santri khusunya agar di dalam melakukan sebuah kebaikan tidak memandang siapapun. Di kalangan orang terdekatnya, Abah Faqih adalah sosok yang paling disegani dan dihormati bukan hanya di kalangan teman terdekatnya saja namun juga di kalangan orang yang baru mengenalnya. Sebab di dalam bergaul Abah Faqih tidak pernah melihat latar belakang terhadap orang yang beliau ajak untuk berteman. Baik ia seorang preman, masyarakat biasa, sekalipun orang yang tidak punya apa-apa Abah Faqih sangat terbuka untuk siapapun. Dalam membimbing santri, Abah Faqih menginginkan para santrinya bisa hidup mandiri tidak tergantung kepada orang lain, pemerintah, ataupun orang tua. Abah Faqih mengajari kita untuk menjadi pribadi yang penuh dengan kesederhanaan, tidak membeda-bedakan dan senantiasa berbesar hati, begitu pula yang diajarkan oleh Abah Faqih terhadap anak-anaknya. Abah Faqih adalah bapak pembangunan sudah banyak yang beliau bangun dari mulai PAUD, SD, SMP, MTs, MA, Takhasus, SMA Takhasus, SMK Takhasus, sampai UNSIQ pun Abah Faqih yang mempelopori pembangunannya. Jadi layak jika Abah Faqh disebut sebagai bapak pembangunan. Maka dari itu buku ini terlahir dari gelombang rindu yang merasuk ke dalam hati siapapun yang pernah menyebut namanya dan merasakan jasa-jasanya. Akhirnya dengan mengingat wejangan Bapak Bangsa Sang Proklamator Dr. Ir. H. Soekarno yang masyhur disebut Bung Karno, “JAS MERAH – Jangan Sekali-kali Meninggalkan Sejarah” dan “bangsa yang besar adalah bangsa yang bisa menghargai jasa-jasa pahlawannya,” serta sabda Rosulullah Saw., “Qul al-haqq walau kana murran,” buku Jejak Langkah Abah Faqih ini kami persembahkan dengan segala keterbatasan dan ketidaksempurnaan.
