Dengan rumusan masalah; apa saja ayat-ayat tentang tiga term pemimpin di dalam Al-Qur’an? Dan bagaimana pandangan M. Quraish Shihab tentang pemimpin dalam Al-Qur’an (Khalifah, Imam, dan Ulil Amri) pada Tafsir Al-Misbah? Tujuan penelitian ini adalah apa saja ayat-ayat tentang tiga term pemimpin di dalam Al-Qur’an, dan bagaimana pandangan M. Quraish Shihab tentang pemimpin dalam Al-Qur’an (Khalifah, Imam, dan Ulil Amri) pada Tafsir Al Misbah. Penelitian ini tergolong jenis penelitian library research. Dan memakai sumber data primer yakni sumber data yang memaparkan data langsung dari tangan pertama, yaitu data yang dijadikan sumber kajian, dan memakai sumber data sekunder, yakni data dari buku-buku yang relevan dengan pembahasan penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah dengan mencari dan mengumpulkan buku yang menjadi sumber data sekunder sedangkan teknik analisis datanya menggunakan tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan menarik kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan temuan sebagai berikut: (1) pertama term khalifah terdapat di QS. Al-Baqarah ayat 30, dan QS. S/d ayat 26, kedua term im?m terdapat di QS. Al-Baqarah ayat 124, QS. Al-Isra ayat 71, QS. Al-Furqan ayat 74, dan yang ketiga term ulil amri terdapat di QS. An-Nisa ayat 59, (2) Menurut M.
