The twice-daily Tamid (standing) sacrifice was the focus of religious life from the time God established a covenant with the Israelites at Mount Sinai until the Jerusalem Temple's destruction in AD 70. No other sacrifice was to take precedence over the Tamid, and it was to continue as the centerpiece of worship for as long as the Sinai Covenant endured. However, the Tamid served as more than the means of atonement and covenant sanctification for Israel. It was also a sign of hope for the future sanctification for all peoples of the earth. Jesus of Nazareth is the fulfillment of that hope. The Passion of the Christ reveals the mystery of the single sacrifice of the two Tamid lambs-He who is fully man and God. Jesus became the true Tamid Lamb that all past Tamid lambs prefigured. Just as the unblemished Tamid lamb was the continual sacrifice presented in the Jerusalem Temple, Jesus is the holy unblemished Lamb "standing" before the throne of God in the heavenly Temple (Revelation 5:6). His sacrifice is continually made present in Heaven and on earthly altars during the Eucharistic celebration of the Mass.

This book is written in line with apostolic orthodoxy of Scripture. It gives clear theological thought why only Jesus Christ qualifies as our Passover Lamb, showing how the sacrificial death of Christ negates the effect of the Fall of Adam and Eve. The book reviews the sacrifices of Old Testament patriarchs, priests, prophets and kings. It narrates in detail the origin and events of the Jewish Passover, which also foreshadows the New Testament Passover instituted by Christ. In this book you will understand clearly why other sacrifices by mankind are not enough for sin atonement. The book brings to light why believers should share in the elements of the covenant at the Holy Communion Table with reverence and hearts of gratitude to God for the finished work of Christ on the cross. Christ Our Passover Lamb is a must for anyone who wants to know more why grace and truth came by Jesus Christ, giving you an insight into the mystery of His sacrifice hidden in the mind of God before the world began. This book will certainly bless and inspire you to share in the marriage supper of the Lamb with other saints in His coming Kingdom.

The sacrificial death of Jesus Christ is the most important and cherished event in human history. Still, the accurate cause of how Jesus died remains a mystery to this day. Dr. Gary Hassmann relies on his years of experience as a physician and surgeon to utilize his findings gathered from three decades of extensive scriptural studies, medical research, and pilgrimages to the Holy Land and Rome to unravel and solve the mystery of how Jesus died. By shining a fresh light on the prophetic scriptures, the transcendence of blood and water, the effects of the Christ event such as redemption and reconciliation, and a new perspective collected from the twenty-first century medical sciences, Dr. Hassmann invites others to contemplate a fascinating theory about Christ’s death and ultimately glean more robust spiritual truths about God’s meaning and prophetic messages. Blood and Water presents original research of the sacred scriptures and the modern medical sciences that faithfully and thoughtfully deciphers and solves the mystery of how Jesus died.

The Temple Of Jesus written by Bruce Chilton and has been published by Penn State University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1992 with Bible categories.

The first study to develop a theory of sacrifice and then apply it to the sources of early Judaism as well as Jesus's activity. Ritual sacrifice was one of the greatest concerns and most widely shared activities among Jews prior to the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. There is therefore a pressing need for systematic understanding of sacrifice, both as an element of Judaic religion and a context for Jesus's activity. The Temple of Jesus provides a theoretical model of sacrifice and develops that model to analyze classic texts from the Hebrew Scriptures and the Jewish War of Josephus, and it argues that Jesus can only be appreciated as driven by a program to enact his own conception of Israel's purity in sacrifice in order to occasion the disclosure of God's kingdom. Chilton contends that sacrifice is construed as a fundamentally social, "pre-civilized" activity involving pragmata as defined as pure, an emotional affect for participants, and an ideology according to which sacrifice occasions a change of life in the community, thus rejecting current anthropological studies that attempt to explain sacrifice genetically. He shows that texts from Ezekiel, Leviticus, and Deuteronomy share a conviction that the covenant with Israel ensures the validity of sacrifice, even as they define purity in various ways and emphasize differing affects of sacrifice. Finally, Chilton provides a new approach to Jesus, comparing and contrasting his occupation of the Temple with the cultic activities of prominent Pharisees of his period.

God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for the world. For all eternity, the sacrifice of Jesus will be honored, revered, proclaimed and infinitely more. Only one faith has a Savior Who died for the world. Only one God loves the world so much that He gave His only Son and sent Him to the earth to save and redeem mankind. God came to earth as a man and justified Himself to the world.Yet, He was hated, betrayed, condemned, and rejected. He was beaten again and again, scourged, whipped, and flogged to the point of death. He was brutally whipped 39 times. The instrument had thongs with metal hooks and pottery shards, designed to tear the flesh to the bone.A crown of thorns was placed on His head. His head was beaten with a heavy wooden stick. He was mocked, ridiculed, spit upon, and slapped on the face.He was insulted, taunted, reviled, and blasphemed. They drove nails through his hands and feet.He was crucified on a cross for six hours, one of the most brutal forms of execution. He was killed. He was executed.Jesus shed His blood seven times and was the perfect sacrifice. He rose from the dead, ascended to heaven and lives forevermore.Jesus Christ is the Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world.Whosoever relies on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. He is the only way to life and heaven.

“Christ’s one sacrifice and His re-presentation of it in the Mass is a profound mystery.” To help us understand this, Thomas Nash gives a detailed outline of the Jewish understanding of sacrifice and how the New Testament authors would have understood Christ’s death and its relationship with Eucharist. In the Mass the priest “remembers” the sacrifice of His death and participates in the eternal offering of Christ’s death. Nash explains, however, that the Jewish understanding of remembrance was more than just a commemoration: “when the Hebrews remembered an event, God enabled that event to transcend time and impact the present.”
