Seven Postures of Christ is a series of gleanings from the four Gospels in which we are invited to marvel at the glory of our Lord Jesus displayed in various postures that He adopted during his earthly life. There is no subject more captivating for the Christian than 'the things concerning Himself' (Luke 24:27). We will read of Him stooping, lying, walking, sitting, standing, touching, and bowing his head in death on the cross. Joseph, the beloved son of Jacob, was given a coat of many colours; undoubtedly a picture for us of the many facets of the glory of our blessed Lord, the One of whom Peter speaks as 'a living stone . . . chosen of God, and precious (1 Pet. 2:4), and 'a chief corner stone, elect, precious' (v. 6). He is precious to God but has now become precious to us: 'To you therefore who believe [is] the preciousness' (v. 7 JND). In this book the writer endeavours to draw together devotional studies, many of which by their very nature have a practical bearing on our lives. The studies are by no means exhaustive; the riches of Christ are unsearchable, His person inscrutable, His love immeasurable. If the reading of these lines draws the reader closer to the Lord Jesus, then its existence will be justified.

Do you want your marriage to be powerful, exciting, romantic and full of grace? One of the golden keys to making that happen is service. As human faces are different, so are their learning styles. Some are visual learners, while others are audio learners. Statistics reveal that more than 65% of the world population falls under the former category (visual learners). It is it surprising that God communicates to us visually in His Word (the Bible). In A Biblical Posture That Changed My Life, Samson King reveals the wisdom he gleaned from meditating on one of the postures assumed by Jesus in the Bible. The book will teach you how to go the extra mile to serve others, especially in the context of marriage. Jesus' example of serving His Bride, the Church, is a great example of this wisdom. Praise for the Book God the Father had an agenda of winning the world back, and to establish His will and Kingdom upon the earth. For this He sent His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Now the Son, God in the flesh, had a strategy for taking the world. To the wisest, smartest and greatest one of this world the understanding is that He will skill up in both the science and art of warfare, lead a great army of the violent folks and forcefully claim back the kingdoms of this world and make them His Father's. Well, Jesus wasn't going to do it the worldly way, He had a different plan. No arrows shot, no sword wielded, and no bullet fired, yet He conquered the world, won back the hearts of men and fulfilled the Father's will, only through humility. Jesus effectively demonstrated humility in His dispositions toward His disciples and His ministries to humankind, even to the point of death on the cross. He made it emphatically clear that the greatest power on earth does not lie with the seemingly powerful of this world, but with those who will humble themselves. This book in your hand is all about this very profound truth. In it, Samson King uses his unique style of easy flow narrative to breakdown the concepts of humility and submission to God's will even as we relate with others within our spheres of influence; using his life stories and experiences. I reckon this will be a quick and easy read that will be of tremendous blessing to you. I encourage you to get a copy for yourself and give one to someone you care about. Enjoy it and be blessed indeed. - SAM ADEYEMI A MUST READ FOR ALL MEN! This book is so simple, insightful, powerful, straight to the point and an eye opener for men- married to know God's expectations and singles to have a mindset towards marriage. I love the comparison between a man and his wife and Jesus and His bride- "The church." All men should read this book because it's filled with life giving, marriage working nuggets! If the principles in this book which are biblical principles can be adhered to, women will give more! Thank you Pastor Samson for blessing this generation with the truth of the word of God! God bless you! I never knew that the concept of men kneeling to propose to their spouse is a revelation from Jesus posture when serving His disciples. Men, if you start with the revelation of Christ, then go all the way with Him. - RENNY OYEWUSI

“If there were a Guinness Book of World Records entry for ‘amount of times having prayed the sinner’s prayer,’ I’m pretty sure I’d be a top contender,” says pastor and author J. D. Greear. He struggled for many years to gain an assurance of salvation and eventually learned he was not alone. “Lack of assurance” is epidemic among evangelical Christians. In Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart, J. D. shows that faulty ways of present- ing the gospel are a leading source of the confusion. Our presentations may not be heretical, but they are sometimes misleading. The idea of “asking Jesus into your heart” or “giving your life to Jesus” often gives false assurance to those who are not saved—and keeps those who genuinely are saved from fully embracing that reality. Greear unpacks the doctrine of assurance, showing that salvation is a posture we take to the promise of God in Christ, a posture that begins at a certain point and is maintained for the rest of our lives. He also answers the tough questions about assurance: What exactly is faith? What is repentance? Why are there so many warnings that seem to imply we can lose our salvation? Such issues are handled with respect to the theological rigors they require, but Greear never loses his pastoral sensitivity or a communication technique that makes this message teachable to a wide audience from teens to adults.

Prayer not only is a form of communication, but prayer is a posture in His presence, where our spirit, mind, body, and soul should surrender.Think about this, when Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane and He yielded to God's will, not His will to be done. Inside these pages, it will teach us how we posture and position ourselves in prayer. We want prayers that bring results on a daily basis and praying God's word and saturating it with Faith is when we see manifestation.

A Revolutionary Jesus written by Jesse P. Nickel and has been published by Fortress Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-09-24 with Religion categories.

This book is about Jesus's perspective on violence, the ways this is demonstrated in his ministry, and its implications for Jesus's followers. It begins by examining the nature and role of violence within Second Temple Jewish eschatology. "Eschatological violence"--violence connected in some way with eschatological expectations--was an important factor in the world of Jesus and his contemporaries. Many believed that God's long-awaited deliverance was contingent on his people's taking up the sword against their oppressors, thus demonstrating their zealous allegiance to the covenant. In contrast, Jesus articulated and enacted a vision for God's reign in which violence was completely disassociated both from the means of the kingdom's inauguration and from the character of those who belonged to it. This was a kingdom defined by peace, whose people would be identified by peacemaking, exemplified by its Lord, whose victory was accomplished in giving his own life. Jesus's rejection of violence thus grew from the very core of his understanding of his task, his identity, and the character of the kingdom. To be a disciple is to follow Jesus's teaching and example. Therefore, it is clear that violence should have no place in Christian praxis.

It’s possible for prayer to become so routine that it’s almost meaningless. Head-oriented prayer can focus on getting the words just right, while leaving out the rest of who you are. BodyPrayer helps you become fully engaged in prayer as you connect with God using more than mere words. By practicing various postures of prayer–many of them identical to those modeled in Scripture–you will open your life more fully to God. Body prayer involves all of who you are as you enter into communion with God, either individually or with other believers. Join Christians throughout history who used their entire being as a prayer–in expressions of joy, gratitude, and entreaty, as well as worship and devotion to God. This biblically based guide will help you practice a richer, more meaningful expression of prayer–one that involves your body as well as your soul. This is prayer that goes deeper than words. Engage your physical senses in a spiritual discipline… If your spirituality lacks passion, you can find new life in the ancient practice of body prayer. When you adopt postures that express the burdens of your heart, you bring all of who you are into God’s presence. BodyPrayer invites twenty-eight ways to involve your entire being as you connect with God. Whether you pray in submission with forehead touching the ground, or in exaltation with arms outstretched and eyes raised to heaven, you will find new spiritual vitality in prayer that expresses all of who you are. Avoid the recitation of empty words and move your prayer life into the realm of whole-life engagement. When you use your body to express what words often fail to say, you are drawn closer to God. What is at the heart of the church's work in the world? It's not church-as-usual, that's for sure. In defiance of the temptations to make the church all about its members, Kim Hammond and Darren Cronshaw call us to embrace our "sentness," to follow Jesus into our world and call it to faith.
