Tota l'obra de Xirau és un intent de superar l'intel•lectualisme tradicional, incapac; de resoldre la crisi moderna entre allo que és i allo que hauria de ser. Es tracta d'un intel•lectualisme que separa tan radicalment l'objecte i el subjecte que, un cap feta la separació, ja no pot arribar a entendre el coneixement com allo que realment és, com un acte personalment comprensiu de la realitat. Segons Xirau, aquest divorci entre la rigidesa de l'ésser i l'espontaneïtat del subjecte que acull i valora només es pot superar si no es plantegen per separat els ambits deis fets i deis valors. Se n'ha de saber trabar, dones, la confluencia. Per aixo Xirau propasa una fenomenologia harmonitzadora de diverses tendencies, basada en una metafísica de l'amor i orientada cap a la reforma de la societat a través de l'educació. El seu és un intent de restauració de la unitat perduda del món i de l'esperit. El que ell anomena «l'ordre de l'amor» vol aconseguir la «personalització» de la realitat, que no és mai objectiva i tancada, sinó sempre confluent i oberta. La realitat de l'ésser té sempre, dones, un component subjectiu, de valor, que li dóna el seu caracter dinamic, profund. All the work of Xirau is an attempt to overcome traditional intellectualism, unable; to resolve the crisis between what is modern and what should be. It intellectualism radically separating the object and the subject that, made no separation, no longer can understand knowledge as what it really is, as an act personally understanding of reality. According Xirau this divorce between the rigidity of human and spontaneity of the subject that welcomes and values can only be overcome if you do not consider separate spheres foothold foothold facts and values. One has to know: to find women, the confluence. To do this Xirau propasa a phenomenology harmonizing various trends, based on a metaphysics of love and reform-oriented society through education. His is an attempt to restore the lost unity of the world and the spirit. What he calls "the order of love" wants to get the "customization" of reality, which is never objective and closed, but always open and convergent. The reality is always being women, a subjective component, value, giving its dynamic character, depth. Toda la obra de Xirau es un intento de superar el intelectualismo tradicional, incapaz; de resolver la crisis moderna entre lo que es y lo que debería ser. Se trata de un intelectualismo que separa tan radicalmente el objeto y el sujeto que, una cabeza hecha la separación, ya no puede llegar a entender el conocimiento como aquello que realmente es, como un acto personalmente comprensivo de la realidad. Según Xirau, este divorcio entre la rigidez del ser y la espontaneidad del sujeto que acoge y valora sólo se puede superar si no se plantean por separado los ámbitos de los hechos y de los valores. Se ha de saber trabar, mujeres, la confluencia. Por eso Xirau propone una fenomenología armonizadora de diversas tendencias, basada en una metafísica del amor y orientada hacia la reforma de la sociedad a través de la educación. El suyo es un intento de restauración de la unidad perdida del mundo y del espíritu. Lo que él llama «el orden del amor» quiere conseguir la «personalización» de la realidad, que no es nunca objetiva y cerrada, sino siempre confluente y abierta. La realidad del ser tiene siempre, mujeres, un componente subjetivo, de valor, que le da su carácter dinámico, profundo.
