Dave Andrews’s latest book, To Right Every Wrong, is the last in the Dave Andrews Legacy Series. It is a funny, sad, brutally honest retrospective, reflecting on what it has meant for him and his family to seek to live a lifetime dedicated to love and justice. The reflections in this book, subtitled The Making and Unmaking of One Improbable Minor Prophet, come in three parts—the personal, the prophetical, and the paradoxical. The personal part explores Andrews’s experience of the radical, compassionate spirituality that he shares with wife, Angie, and which has shaped their way of life as a family in community with marginalized and disadvantaged groups of people. The prophetical part explores Andrews’s embrace of the “strange,” “crazy,” “improbable” call he felt to be a prophet, which he has sought to flesh out in classic prophetic roles—as an interrogator, a protester, a practitioner, and an inspirator—in contemporary prophetic contexts characterized by poverty and violence. The paradoxical part explores Andrews’s making and unmaking as a minor prophet, critically constructing and deconstructing the more confrontational aspects of the prophetic roles he has played in order to be able to practice more sensitive pastoral care.

Train your brain with the secrets behind the world's toughest feat of memory: the London Knowledge The Knowledge is a unique book: a guide to getting more out of your brain and your city. A fully illustrated, lovingly detailed look at London's best kept secrets, it will also take you down the pathways of your mind and teach you how to keep your memory sharp. Written by a licensed London cab driver and tour guide, The Knowledge is the first ever book to take readers inside the legendarily difficult - and fast-vanishing - set of skills that all licensed cab drivers must have: a perfect , thoroughly tested knowledge of every street, alley, turning and landmark of London. The black cab is an iconic symbol of London, but to drive it, prospective cabbies must take what is often considered the world's hardest exam, involving learning every street, turning and waypoint along 320 different routes across London, along with every landmark within 1/4 of a mile of the start and end of each route: altogether 25,000 streets and 2,000 places of interest. Learning the Knowledge takes years, and dozens of appearances at gruelling oral exams, but those who pass become part of a unique partnership, with no parallel anywhere in the world. Scientific studies have consistently shown that London cabbies who have passed the Knowledge have enlarged brains and near-superhuman memory capacities. The Knowledge is the first book to take readers inside the extraordinary mind of the cabbie, with 50 real Knowledge routes across London, beautifully mapped and illustrated to show the streets and landmarks, with notes on their hidden histories and popular associations, and sections allowing the reader to test their memory on these routes, accompanied with an introduction discussing the history and science of the Knowledge and guides to memory-training techniques used by cabbies and memory champions around the world.

From the mean streets of New York City's prime mafia borough comes a chase after savvy and streetwise bank robbers and jewel thieves that crosses international boundaries and time zones with the speed of a rocket. When a billion dollar diamond deal cut by one of New York's heaviest crime families goes sour, and the consignment of rare gems is lost overseas, a crew of wise guys straight out of Brooklyn is ordered to get it back -- any way they can. David Alexander weaves everything together with the skill of a true master of the action thriller category in an unforgettable extravaganza of capers, mayhem, hot gems, hot dames, and accomplished criminals who will stop at nothing to gain possession of a treasure whose value is almost beyond calculation. Brooklynese is an international caper novel to end all caper novels, a nonstop page-turner jam-packed with action from start to finish and one of Alexander's boldest books ever. "Brooklynese is an accomplishment by an author whose narrative skills are clearly at their peak and can sustain an ambitious plot, like the daring young man on the trapeze who flies through the air with the greatest of ease." -- Desert Sun "If every crook could pull off a caper with the ease and skill Alexander ably demonstrates in Brooklynese, we'd all be broke." -- Globe Literary Supplement "From the mean streets of New York City's toughest borough, comes a chase after savvy and streetwise bank robbers and jewel thieves crossing international boundaries and time zones with the speed of a rocket plane. Alexander weaves everything together with the skill of a true master of the action thriller category in an unforgettable extravaganza of capers, mayhem, hot gems, hot dames, and accomplished criminals who will stop at nothing to gain possession of a treasure whose value is beyond calculation. As crime thrillers go, Brooklynese is the boss of bosses." -- Brookline Beacon
