La condición de exclusión política y económica de las y los sujetos jóvenes tanto en México como en Latinoamérica y otras latitudes, se ha convertido en un generador de miedo, reproduciendo violencia. Aunado a ello, los sectores juveniles menos favorecidos también tienen el temor de perder la vida y sus vínculos afectivos, de salir del modelo dominante de masculinidad, de no lograr el éxito y no tener ocupación en una sociedad trabajadora y consumista, que no genera empleos dignos para poder construir un futuro prometedor en sus vidas. Una gran parte de las juventudes resiste al sistema imperante, como actores y sujetos sociales activos, que emergen en otras formas y tienden a cuestionar el orden dominante. La diversificación de la condición juvenil ha tomado distintas expresiones, pero aquí se atienden principalmente a aquellas juventudes precarizadas, criminalizadas y violentadas. La población joven, particularmente masculina y pobre, carga con el estigma de ser la causante y portadora de sospecha del delito y, en general, de encarnar el mal, ligado a los estereotipos de rebeldía, transgresión, impulsividad, irreflexividad, carencia de límites o moralidad. Sin embargo, no hay que olvidar que una parte del comportamiento juvenil se caracteriza por acciones divergentes, alternas y de resistencias culturales, que cuestionan y tensionan las normas sociales, aunque hay que aclarar que esto no es sinónimo de delincuencia sino una reacción a las condiciones de opresión que genera el propio sistema.
