Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: Es gibt wahrscheinlich wenige Begriffe in der Soziologie, welche die Gesellschaft so genau zu kennen scheint, wie den Begriff der Freundschaft. Vermutlich ist es wie in der Medizin, wo der Patient glaubt, genauso gut über Kopfschmerzen Bescheid zu wissen wie der Arzt. Daß das natürlich nicht den Tatsachen entspricht, kann sich jeder denken. Obwohl die Freundschaft durchaus eine soziologische Kategorie ist - wie schon NÖTZOLDT-LINDEN (1994) in ihrem Buch zum Ausdruck brachte - findet sie sich in der Soziologie relativ selten wieder. Verdient macht sich bei der Erforschung der Freundschaft vor allem die Sozialpsychologie (vgl. LEMKE, 2000: 22). Dabei wäre es auch in der Soziologie wichtig, der Freundschaft mit mehr Interesse entgegenzukommen, da sie in einer zunehmenden Individualisierung und dem damit verbundenen Bedeutungsverlust traditioneller Bindungen eine Alternative - vorrangig in jungen Erwachsenenjahren - darstellt. Noch seltener, als dies ohnehin schon der Fall ist, wurde im deutschsprachigem Raum die gegengeschlechtliche Freundschaft untersucht. Eine gegengeschlechtliche Freundschaftsforschung ist daher in Deutschland nicht etabliert1. Lediglich zwei Arbeiten (LODDENKÖTTER, 2001; KUHNERT, 2001) einer Fernuniversität und ein populärwissenschaftliches Buch (MÖNKEMEYER/NORDHOFF, 1993) sind in diesem Zusammenhang zu finden. Ein Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es deshalb, Ergebnisse aber auch Fragen aufzuwerfen, die weitere Untersuchungen ideengebend unterstützen sollen. Zwei Erlebnisse brachten mich dazu, die gegengeschlechtliche Freundschaft - also die Freundschaft zwischen Mann und Frau - einer näheren Untersuchung zu unterziehen: Erstens - ich sah den Film Harry und Sally (1989). Jeder der den Film kennt, weiß daß der Hauptdarsteller (Harry) die Behauptung aufstellt: Männer und Frauen können nie Freunde sein. Der Sex kommt ihnen immer wieder dazwischen 2. Diese Annahme führte mit Sicherheit, nicht nur in meinem Bekanntenkreis, zu vielen Diskussionen. Der zweite Grund bestand in AUHAGENs (1993: 220) Äußerung, daß es weitestgehend unbekannt sei, wie Freunde und Freundinnen miteinander umgehen. Ein Thema, dem so wenig Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt wurde, obwohl es durchaus auch für die Soziologie interessant sein dürfte, verdient meiner Meinung nach eine wissenschaftliche Untersuchung. Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Psychologie - Sozialpsychologie, Note: 1,3, Universität zu Köln, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit untersucht Freundschaften zwischen Männern und Frauen, auch genannt cross-sex Freundschaften, da der gesellschaftliche Blick auf diese immer noch misstrauisch ist und sich Theoretiker nicht einig sind, inwiefern solche Freundschaften eher same-sex Freundschaften oder romantischen Beziehungen ähneln. Somit ist es besonders wichtig, sich damit auseinanderzusetzen, inwiefern Sex und Attraktion wirklich eine Rolle in diesen Freundschaften spielt und welche Auswirkungen cross-sex Freundschaften auf das soziale Leben der Beteiligten haben. Im Gegensatz zu gleichgeschlechtlichen Freundschaften scheinen cross-sex Verbindungen diversen Schwierigkeiten entgegen zu stehen. Forscher sehen genau hier einen interessanten, bisher wenig beleuchteten Teil der Forschung. Während same-sex Freundschaften und (heterosexuelle) Partnerschaften wenig hinterfragt werden, stehen Männer und Frauenfreundschaften unter dem strengen Blick der Gesellschaft. Aber auch innerhalb dieser Freundschaften können Probleme auftreten. Die Art der emotionalen Verbindung muss geklärt werden: Es wird hinterfragt, inwiefern Sexualität einen Platz in dieser Verbindung hat. Die Freundschaft muss in der Öffentlichkeit im Hinblick auf ihre Authentizität verteidigt werden und in der Dyade soll genderrelevante Gleichheit herrschen. Außerdem bergen gegengeschlechtliche Freundschaften die Gefahr, Partner eifersüchtig zu machen und somit diese Beziehung zu schwächen. Gegengeschlechtliche Freundschaften bieten beiden Parteien Vorteile wie Intimität und die Perspektive des anderen Geschlechts, die sie durch Sex nicht verkomplizieren möchten. Insgesamt schätzten Männer und Frauen die Chance platonischer Freundschaften hoch ein, gehen aber auch davon aus, dass es in über der Hälfte der Freundschaften heimliches sexuelles oder romantisches Interesse von mindestens einer Partei gibt. Dabei zeigt sich, dass Männer davon ausgehen, ihre spezifische Freundin habe Interesse an ihnen, generalisieren dies aber nicht auf alle Freundschaften. Frauen und Männer projiziieren ihr eigenes Interesse auf das Interesse ihres Gegenübers, wobei Frauen das Interesse von für sie attraktiven Partnern überschätzen und das nicht-attraktiver unterschätzen. Obwohl Männer in mehreren Studien angaben, dass sie mehr sexuelles Interesse an ihren weiblichen Freunden haben, wissen sie die Vorteile platonischer Freundschaften oftmals zu schätzen und versuchen sexuellen Kontakt mit engen Freundinnen eher zu vermeiden.

While LGBT populations often are combined as a single entity for research and advocacy purposes, each is a distinct population group with its own specific health needs. Furthermore, the experiences of LGBT individuals are not uniform and are shaped by factors of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, geographical location, and age, any of which can have an effect on health-related concerns and needs. The Health of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People assesses the state of science on the health status of LGBT populations, identifies research gaps and opportunities, and outlines a research agenda for the National Institute of Health. The report examines the health status of these populations in three life stages: childhood and adolescence, early/middle adulthood, and later adulthood. How is it that cultures come into existence at all? How do cultures develop particular customs and characteristics rather than others? How do cultures persist and change over time? Most previous attempts to address these questions have been descriptive and historical. Most other investigations into "cultural psychology" have focused on the impact that culture has on the psychology of the individual. The focus of this book is the reverse. The authors show how questions about the origins and evolution of culture can be fruitfully answered through rigorous and creative examination of fundamental characteristics of human cognition, motivation, and social interaction. They review recent theory and research that, in many different ways, points to the influence of basic psychological processes on the collective structures that define cultures.
