Erkenntnisse zeigen, dass diese von einigen Faktoren abhängt. Shopper/-innen werden jene KI-Technologien akzeptieren und adoptieren, die funktionale sowie hedonistische Nutzen haben und Bedürfnisse wie Individualisierung, Convenience, Effizienz, Zeitersparnis sowie Transparenz hinsichtlich Produktinformationen abdecken und kompetent genug sind, um den Kontext ihrer individuellen Kundenwünsche zu verstehen. Ferner müssen im LEH smarte Infrastrukturen entstehen und Händler eine kanalübergreifende Kundenansprache forcieren. Erfolg werden letztendlich jene Händler und KI-System-Entwickler/-innen haben, die vertikale Markteffekte maximal ausnutzen, um genügend Shopper-Bedürfnisse individuell ansprechen zu können.Aufgrund der Betrachtung der Erkenntnisse in der vorliegenden Arbeit können im Zuge von Prognosen KI-Systeme in Zukunft als persönliche Shopping-Assistenten eingesetzt werden, oder sogar den Einkauf stellvertretend übernehmen, da sie Shopper/-innen und deren Profile sowie deren Einkaufsverhalten akkurat analysieren können. Marktbeherrschende LEH-Ketten werden durch den Einsatz von KI-Systemen Wegbereiter sein und Menschen als Mitarbeiter/-innen weiterhin am Point-of-Sale zur Unterstützung vorsehen. KI-Systeme werden zu persönlichen Einkaufassistenten, die für Shopper/-innen akkurat individuelle Produkte vorschlagen und Informationen transparent visualisieren können. Höchstwahrscheinlich werden sich automatisches Bezahlen sowie die Lieferoption per Drohne oder Roboter durchsetzen. For that reason, among others, there is a great potential for the food retail industry to boost revenue and anticipate shopper behavior accurately. Currently, retailers are using AI technologies already to optimize logistics- and goods movement processes. However, technologies on the shopper side are still in the early development. Hence the intention of this paper was to investigate changes along the shopper journey with applications of AI in stationary food retail.Findings revealed, that changes in the future would depend on several factors. Shoppers accept and adopt AI technologies that provide functional as well as hedonistic benefits and cover needs like individualization, convenience, efficiency, time saving and product information transparency. Furthermore, technologies will likely be accepted if they understand the context of individual customer wishes. Moreover, stationary food retailers have to implement smart infrastructures and execute a cross-channel strategy. In the end, retailers and AI developers, which fully exploit vertical market effects to cover more shopper needs will be most successful.Due to considerations of findings in this work forecasts are made that AI systems will be implemented as personal shopping assistants or even do the shopping themselves as a representative for the shopper, since they know their profile and purchasing behavior based on an accurate analysis. Stationary food retailers that dominate the market currently will also be pioneers in implementing AI technologies. In this scenario staff members will still play a supportive role at the point of sale. AI systems in the future will be personal shopping assistants that accurately suggest individual products for shoppers and visualize information in a transparent way. Most probably, automatic payment as well as delivery by drones or robots will prevail. In addition, retailers can provide emotional inputs for shoppers by implementing a showroom. In that way they can strengthen shoppers preferences with regard to the stationary point of purchase.
