Cerita kedua tentang kisah perjalanan sang Niat yang berupaya untuk mencari hakekat kebenaran. Tetapi Niat yang tidak dilandasi keikhlasan, enggan menerima petunjuk yang lurus serta tidak mau bersabar atas segala rintangan yang menghadang, akan gagal mencapai kebenaran yang hakiki. Cerita terakhir berisi tentang hubungan seorang penjahat dan seorang pelacur yang berakhir dengan sangat mengharukan. Subali meninggal dalam sujudnya setelah shalat subuh, sementara Sarmi melaksanakan seluruh amanah Subali untuk meminta maaf dan mengembali harta hasil kejahatan Subali kepada para korbannya.
