Many people first encounter Hawai‘i through the imagination—a postcard picture of hula girls, lu‘aus, and plenty of sun, surf, and sea. While Hawai‘i is indeed beautiful, Native Hawaiians struggle with the problems brought about by colonialism, military occupation, tourism, food insecurity, high costs of living, and climate change. In this brilliant reinvention of the travel guide, artists, activists, and scholars redirect readers from the fantasy of Hawai‘i as a tropical paradise and tourist destination toward a multilayered and holistic engagement with Hawai‘i's culture and complex history. The essays, stories, artworks, maps, and tour itineraries in Detours create decolonial narratives in ways that will forever change how readers think about and move throughout Hawai‘i. Contributors. An Enterprise Map Of Tanzania written by John Sutton and has been published by Nightingale Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-11 with Business & Economics categories.

In the first decade of the new millennium, Tanzania's gross domestic product doubled in real terms, making it one of the handful of sub-Saharan economies that have shown strong and sustained growth in recent years. This growth was, moreover, broad based, with manufacturing output growing slightly faster than the economy as a whole. To maintain this rate of growth over the next decade, Tanzania's industrial capabilities will need to advance in a quite substantial way. The foundations for this advance lie in the current capabilities of Tanzania's industrial companies. The purpose of this volume is to set out a detailed description, industry by industry, of those capabilities. Along the way, we explore a series of questions. Where did Tanzania's current industrial capabilities originate? To what extent are Tanzanian firms held back by problems of access to land? Will it be possible to successfully integrate Tanzanian companies into the supply chains of the oil and gas sector? This is the third volume in John Sutton's "Enterprise Map" series, which profiles the industrial capabilities of selected countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Volumes on Ethiopia and Ghana have already appeared. The forthcoming fourth volume will be on Zambia.

This original study examines women's activism against war in areas as far apart as Sierra Leone, India, Colombia and Palestine. It shows women on different sides of conflicts in the former Yugoslavia and Israel addressing racism and refusing enmity and describes international networks of women opposing US and Western European militarism and the so-called 'war on terror'. These movements, though diverse, are generating an antimilitarist feminism that challenges how war and militarism are understood, both in academic studies and the mainstream anti-war movement. Gender, particularly the form taken by masculinity in a violent sex/gender system, is inseparably linked to economic and ethno-national factors in the perpetuation of war.
