Vor 100 Jahren verfaßte in Gladbeck der geistliche Rektor des Krankenhauses, Johannes van Acken, seine Christozentrische Kirchenkunst. Der Priester und Kirchenhistoriker Ralph Eberhard Brachthäuser legt die bisher ausführlichste Biographie zu Johannes van Acken vor, ergänzt um eine Textsynopse zu den Veränderungen zwischen beiden Auflagen sowie einen umfangreichen Personenkommentar.
