Besedna zveza »kolektivna identiteta« označuje obliko družbene identitete, ki obsega kognitivno, moralno in emocionalno povezavo z drugimi. Dejstvo, da je medsebojno povezovanje ljudi na osnovi skupnih značilnosti ena od osnovnih človeških lastnosti, upravičuje porabo tega sicer modernega koncepta za raziskovanje starejših obdobij. Temu se v svojih raziskavah posveča triindvajset uveljavljenih raziskovalk in raziskovalcev iz Slovenije ter zamejstva, ki so za monografijo prispevali svoje razprave. Avtorice in avtorji so v svojih prispevkih obdelali široko plejado tematik, povezanih z nastajanjem, razvijanjem in spreminjanjem kolektivnih identitet na približno tisočletni premici zgodovine dolgega trajanja, segajoči od zgodnjega srednjega veka do druge polovice 20. stoletja. V središču zanimanja raziskav so Slovenci in njihov prostor, monografija pa slovenske teme postavlja tudi v širši okvir. Razprave so po hibridnem kronološko-tematskem ključu razdeljene na šest sklopov, in sicer: Srednji vek, Zgodnji novi vek, Krščanstvo in narodotvornost, Razvoj narodnega gibanja, Ljudska kultura in umetnost ter Polpreteklost in sodobnost.

History and Truth deals with the epistemological premises and the objectivity of historical truth as well as the social conditioning of historical cognition. Both the problem of the model of cognitive relationship and the problem of truth are discussed in the context of true cognition. Comprised of eight chapters, this book begins with an overview of historians' conflicting interpretations regarding the causes of the French Revolution to highlight the tendency of historians to differ in their visions of the historical process, resulting in different and sometimes even contradictory representations of one and the same fact. The discussion then turns to three models of the process of cognition (the cognitive subject, the object of cognition, and knowledge as the product of the process of cognition), as well as the concept of truth as a philosophical problem. Subsequent chapters focus on two concepts of history, namely, positivism and presentism; The class character of historical cognition; historicism and relativism; and the selection of historical facts. The book also considers why history is continuously written anew before concluding with an assessment of the objectivity of historical truth. This study is an attempt to uncover the structure of three emotion concepts: anger, pride and love. The results indicate that the conceptual structure associated with these emotions consists of four parts: (1) a system of metaphors, (2) a system of metonymies, (3) a system of related concepts, and (4) a category of cognitive models, with a prototypical model in the center. This goes against an influential view of the structure of concepts in linguistics, psychology, anthropology, according to which the structure of a concept can be represented by a small number of sense components.

The unprecedented increase in lesbian representation over the past two decades has, paradoxically, coincided with queer theory's radical transformation of the study of sexuality. In Lesbian Cinema after Queer Theory, Clara Bradbury-Rance argues that this contradictory context has yielded new kinds of cinematic language through which to give desire visual form. By offering close readings of key contemporary films such as Blue Is the Warmest Colour, Water Lilies and Carol alongside a broader filmography encompassing over 300 other films released between 1927 and 2018, the book provokes new ways of understanding a changing field of representation. Bradbury-Rance resists charting a narrative of representational progress or shoring up the lesbian's categorisation in the newly available terms of the visible. Instead, she argues for a feminist framework that can understand lesbianism's queerness. Drawing on a provocative theoretical and visual corpus, Lesbian Cinema after Queer Theory reveals the conditions of lesbian legibility in the twenty-first century.
