Wozu noch ein Heiligenbuch? Gibt es nicht schon genug derartige Kompendien? Diese Frage mag man durchaus mit Ja beantworten, aber dieses hier bescheidet sich mit lediglich einer einzigen Nennung pro Kalendertag den 29. Februar inkludiert und hält die tägliche Nennung zudem in gebotener Kürze. Hierbei habe ich versucht auch weniger bekannte Persönlichkeiten aus dem weiten Panorama der Seligen und Heiligen vorzustellen und eine bunte Mischung durch die Jahrhunderte zu erzielen. Die Darstellung erfolgt möglichst pointiert und prägnant. Dabei wurde weitgehend auf die Vorstellung der Patrozinien und Heiligenattribute verzichtet. Diese können in den Büchern von Schauber Schindler eingehend und ergänzend nachgelesen werden. So bietet dieses Buch eine kurze und dennoch informative Möglichkeit, sich über den jeweiligen Tagesheiligen oder Tagesseligen zu informieren. Zudem sind auch volkskundliche Informationen wie Spruchweisheiten eingearbeitet, die wiederum nicht in einem Heiligenlexikon zu finden sind.
