Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2021 im Fachbereich Bibliothekswissenschaften, Information Science, Note: 2,3, Technische Universität Kaiserslautern, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In den vergangenen zehn Jahren ist in Öffentlichen Bibliotheken der Bedarf für fachlich betreute medienpädagogische Angebote stetig angestiegen. Dementsprechend werden offene Personalstellen in Öffentlichen Bibliotheken immer häufiger mit Medienpädagogen besetzt. Dieser Weg ist aber wegen fehlender Personalstellen nur in wenigen Bibliotheken möglich. Es stellt sich daher die Frage, ob die Mitarbeiter in Öffentlichen Bibliotheken durch interdisziplinäre Kooperation nachhaltig und langfristig Kompetenzen im Bereich der Medienbildung entwickeln und dadurch eigene Angebote aufbauen können. Dieser Frage wird in der vorliegenden Arbeit nachgegangen. Zunächst wird die Medienkompetenzförderung als Kernaufgabe der bibliothekarischen Arbeit näher betrachtet. Dabei wird auch auf die Rolle Öffentlicher Bibliotheken als außerschulischer Bildungspartner eingegangen. Im Hinblick auf die wesentliche Bedeutung dieser Kooperationsarbeit für die medienpädagogischen Angebote in Öffentlichen Bibliotheken, werden auch in der anschließenden Untersuchung Bezüge zum Bildungsbereich aufgezeigt. Im Anschluss an die Beschreibung dieser Ausgangssituation wird die Sprach- und Leseförderung näher betrachtet, um zu verdeutlichen, warum diese eine Basis für medienpädagogische Aktivitäten in Öffentlichen Bibliotheken darstellt. Als Grundlage für die Untersuchung der Kooperationsarbeit werden nachfolgend die Begrifflichkeiten der Kompetenzen, der Medienkompetenz und der Medienbildung erörtert und in den fachlichen Kontext eingeordnet. Anschließend folgt die Beschreibung und Untersuchung des Projekts Leseförderung und Medienbildung mit Tablets, welches zwischen 2018 und 2019 vom Landesbibliothekszentrum Rheinland-Pfalz gemeinsam mit medien+bildung.com gGmbH, Lernwerkstatt Rheinland-Pfalz und einer Projektgruppe aus elf Öffentlichen Bibliotheken durchgeführt worden ist. Zum Abschluss werden weitere Effekte durch die Fortsetzung der interdisziplinären Kooperation dargestellt, darunter auch die Stärkung der Rolle der Bibliotheken als außerschulischer Bildungspartner. In einem zusammenfassenden Fazit wird die künftige Perspektive für die medienpädagogische Arbeit, anhand der Planung für weitere Kooperationen, als mögliche Vision skizziert.
