Das Thema dieser Reihe bildet die glaziale Serie mit dem Schwerpunkt Zungenbecken. Im Laufe der Unterrichtsstunden wird ein entsprechendes Modell geplant, erbaut und im Anschluss analysiert. Im ersten Teil werden das problemlösende und entdeckende Lernen genauer betrachtet und sowohl ein Überblick über die Historie gegeben, als auch die Möglichkeiten der Anwendung innerhalb des Unterrichts diskutiert. Im Folgenden werden Modelle im Hinblick auf ihre Merkmale und ihren Nutzen untersucht, wobei vor allem graphische und konkrete Modelle genauer beleuchtet werden. Um ein elaborierteres Verständnis über glaziale und periglaziale Vorgänge zu erlangen, beinhaltet die vorliegende Arbeit ebenfalls einen Überblick über das Pleistozän und im Besonderen über Gletschertätigkeiten und die Entstehung postglazialer Landschaften des norddeutschen Raumes
