Die Begriffsunsicherheit führt ihrerseits zu Missverständnissen. , Abstract: Über Sinn und Nutzen von "Handlungsorientierung" im Politikunterricht wird in der Politikdidaktik heftig gestritten. Je nach Konzeption meint der Begriff der "Handlungsorientierung" höchst unterschiedliches. Die Begriffsunsicherheit führt ihrerseits zu Missverständnissen.Nähert man sich dem Thema Handlungsorientierung unvoreingenommen und ohne nennenswerte fachdidaktische Vorbildung in diesem Bereich, so fällt einem schon bei der ersten Sichtung der Fachliteratur die große begriffliche Bandbreite bzw. Unsicherheit auf und der Dissens darüber, was handlungsorientierter Unterricht zu leisten in der Lage sein soll. Man kann feststellen, dass die begriffsmäßige Definition eines jeden Autors Hand in Hand geht mit dem Wert, der der Handlungsorientierung zugebilligt wird. Es scheinen sich regelrechte Lager von Gegnern und Befürwortern gebildet zu haben, und der Begriff changiert vom Wundermittel bis zur "Leerformel" . Siegfried Schiele versucht in seinem Aufsatz den "Kampfbegriff" dahingehend zu entschärfen, dass er die Ungeklärtheiten und Missverständnisse dazu herausstellt. Der Konflikt um die Handlungsorientierung sei vor allem auch ein Konflikt zwischen denen, die "wissenschaftsorientiert arbeiten" und "Leuten, die stärker von der Praxis kommen und um ständige konkrete Verbesserungen im Unterricht bemüht sind" . Zum Thema Entfremdung von Praxis und didaktischer Wissenschaft an anderer Stelle mehr. Die Bandbreite dessen, was unter Handlungsorientierung zu verstehen ist, ist folglich riesig. Häufig genannt werden das Vermitteln und Einüben von Handlungskompetenz des zukünftigen aktiven, mündigen Bürgers betreffs der allgemeinen Ziele des Politikunterrichts sowohl Attribute, die in erster Linie der Unterrichtsmethode zuzuordnen sind: "Ganzheitlichkeit", "Offenheit des Unterrichts", "Interaktion", "Schülerzentriertheit", "Unterricht mit Herz und Hand", "Priorität des Handlungsproduktes", "Selbständigkeit des Schülers", "Identifikation", "Anschaulichkeit" und "Vermittlung von Methodenkompetenz". Vor allem beim letzteren wird deutlich, dass Handlungsorientierung nicht nur Unterrichtsmethode, sondern gleichzeitig ein Unterrichtsziel ist. [...]

Yet, once he seized power, his creation of a socially inclusive Volksgemeinschaft, promising equality, economic prosperity and the restoration of honor and pride after the humiliating ending of World War I persuaded many Germans to support him and to shut their eyes to dictatorial coercion, concentration camps, secret state police, and the exclusion of large sections of the population.
