"UNESCO has recently published the third volume of its Education on the Move series, a series dedicated to the analysis of key trends in education with the hope of inspiring dialogue among policy makers, educators and other key stakeholders on the challenges of education for tomorrow. The latest publication, entitled Unleashing the Potential: Transforming Technical and Vocational Education and Training is focused entirely on issues related to technical and vocational education and training (TVET). It takes stock of the steadily increasing demands and expectations on TVET systems around the globe and presents recent policy trends in the field of TVET. In their analysis, the authors provide insights into what it takes to unleash the potential of TVET systems around the world. They propose an integrated analytical approach that takes into consideration such factors as economic growth, social equity and issues related to sustainability so that TVET can contribute more effectively to contemporary policy issues such as youth unemployment, gender disparities and climate change. Overall, the book calls for a transformation of TVET systems to enable them to respond to the demands of their contexts. This transformation should enable TVET systems to acquire agility to stay current and responsive to the rapidly changing demands of the twenty-first century."--Publisher's website.

The lives of weavers and their textile creations form the central subject in this monograph. It explores an understudied field of material culture studies in contemporary Myanmar. Textile cultures, craftsmanship and (national) identity are the core topoi of this work. Embedded in a century of shifting political and economic systems, the documented weaving cultures enhance our understanding of transformation processes on the local level. This book brings together current impulses of material culture studies and observations based on extensive ethnographic fieldwork data.

Humor and laughter are universal aspects of human life: humans’ first vocalization is crying but laughter follows quickly after. During childhood we often select our friends based on their funniness, we (especially women) feel attracted by people that make us laugh and sharing a laugh is a powerful way to maintain good relationships. Humor is mainly a social phenomenon: we laugh and joke much more frequently when we are with other people than when we are alone. All cultures throughout the world present some sort of humor, even though each form may have its own differences. From an academic standpoint, the topic of humor seems to have gained over the years the reputation of being an elusive and mysterious phenomenon. Earlier researchers did not regard humor as a proper topic for scientific investigation. Nowadays there are many studies on humor in different fields. Unfortunately in managerial disciplines there are very few. This research aims at filling some of the existing knowledge gaps by exploring the type of humor used while working in national versus multinational teams and if humor has an impact on team performance. The research compares G8 countries.

The Development Of Community Music In Munich written by Alicia de Bánffy-Hall and has been published by Waxmann Verlag this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019 with Music categories.

In German music education, the focus has historically been on formal music education in schools. Participatory music making in the community, or community music, has so far received little attention in theory or practice. This thesis constitutes the first in-depth analysis of the development of community music in Germany, conducted using empirical data and literature analysis. The development of the Munich Community Music Action Research Group is highlighted as an example of the potential of community music in the German context. The research shows that the context-specific development of a framework for community music in Germany, within the community music spirit of participation reflected in the action research methodology, gives voice to and connects community musicians, and has contributed considerably to the development of community music theory and practice, not only in Munich, but across Germany. Alicia de Bánffy-Hall has worked in community music practice and research for over 15 years: with community centres, nurseries, schools, and arts organisations. In 2016, she accepted a post as a lecturer at the University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt where she established the first MA in inclusive music education/community music in Germany. In 2018, she joined the editorial board of the International Journal of Community Music.
