The book gathers the chapters of Cognitive InfoCommunication research relevant to a variety of application areas, including data visualization, emotion expression, brain-computer interfaces or speech technologies. It provides an overview of the kind of cognitive capabilities that are being analyzed and developed. Based on this common ground, it may become possible to see new opportunities for synergy among disciplines that were heretofore viewed as being separate. Cognitive InfoCommunication begins by modeling human cognitive states and aptitudes in order to better understand what the user of a system is capable of comprehending and doing. The patterns of exploration and the specific tools that are described can certainly be of interest and of great relevance for all researchers who focus on modeling human states and aptitudes. This innovative research area provides answers to the latest challenges in influence of cognitive states and aptitudes in order to facilitate learning or generally improve performance in certain cognitive tasks such as decision making. Some capabilities are purely human, while others are purely artificial, but in general this distinction is rarely clear-cut. Therefore, when discussing new human cognitive capabilities, the technological background which makes them possible cannot be neglected, and indeed often plays a central role. This book highlights the synergy between various fields that are perfectly fit under the umbrella of CogInfoCom and contribute to understanding and developing new, human-artificial intelligence hybrid capabilities. These, merged capabilities are currently appearing, and the importance of the role they play in everyday life are unique to the cognitive entity generation that is currently growing up.

Arguably the greatest and most popular poem in the Hungarian language, this first unabridged translation of Petöfi’s spirited folk epic, which recounts the adventures of a young and valiant shepherd boy, has all the charm and romance of a classic fairy tale. After a reluctant farewell to the beautiful Nelly, Johnny Grain o’ Corn embarks on a series of incredible adventures that take him across land and sea, in the company of bandits, giants, and wicked witches. After he reunites a French princess with her father, the young shepherd must decide whether to accept the king’s gracious offer to ascend to the throne of France or to return to his beloved Nelly. Hungarian poet and patriot Sándor Petöfi extended the range of his nation’s poetry beyond any predecessor, creating an important new synthesis of poetic technique and realistic subject matter.

The use of Virtual Worlds (VWs) has increased in the last decade. VWs are used for communication, education, community building, creative arts, and more. A good deal of research has been conducted into learning and VWs, but other areas remain ripe for investigation. Factors from technological platforms to the nature and conventions of the communities that use VWs must be considered, in order to achieve the best possible interaction between virtual spaces and their users. Making Sense of Space focuses on the background to these issues, describing a range of case studies conducted by the authors. The book investigates the innovative and creative ways designers employ VWs for research, performance-making, and audience engagement. Secondly, it looks into how educators use these spaces to support their teaching practice. Lastly, the book examines the potential of VWs as new methods of communication, and the ways they are changing our perception of reality. This book is structured into four chapters. An introduction provides a history and outline of important themes for VWs, and subsequent chapters consider the design of virtual spaces, experience of virtual spaces, and communication in virtual spaces. Written by two experienced academics and practitioners in the field, offering different perspectives Uses a multidisciplinary approach, drawing on: education; scenography; performance studies; disaster management; and computer science Provides multiple viewpoints on the topic, gained through interviews and contributions from a range of experts, as well as several co-authored chapters

Understanding Virtual Reality: Interface, Application, and Design, Second Edition, arrives at a time when the technologies behind virtual reality have advanced dramatically in their development and deployment, providing meaningful and productive virtual reality applications. The aim of this book is to help users take advantage of ways they can identify and prepare for the applications of VR in their field, whatever it may be. The included information counters both exaggerated claims for VR, citing dozens of real-world examples. By approaching VR as a communications medium, the authors have created a resource that will remain relevant even as the underlying technologies evolve. You get a history of VR, along with a good look at systems currently in use. However, the focus remains squarely on the application of VR and the many issues that arise in application design and implementation, including hardware requirements, system integration, interaction techniques and usability. Features substantive, illuminating coverage designed for technical or business readers and the classroom Examines VR's constituent technologies, drawn from visualization, representation, graphics, human-computer interaction and other fields Provides (via a companion website) additional case studies, tutorials, instructional materials and a link to an open-source VR programming system Includes updated perception material and new sections on game engines, optical tracking, VR visual interface software and a new glossary with pictures

Toldi S Eve written by John Arany and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-06-01 with Poetry categories.

This book collects the epic and narrative poetry of the great 19th century Magyar poet, J?nos Arany. Toldi's Eve is a lengthy epic poem based on Magyar folk legends, telling the story of a 14th century legendary hero. Arany (1817 - 1882), the son of an impoverished noble, is considered one of the founders of modern Hungarian poetry. He was an actor, notary, editor, and professor of Hungarian literature at the Nagy-Koros college. His first masterpiece, Toldi (1846), an epic of classical popular realism, earned him national recognition. Toldi's name is derived from a 14th-century Hungarian folk hero Toldi Miklos. Toldi Miklos is to Hungary, as Robin Hood is to England.
