Welche Funktionen hat diese literarische Gattung in beiden Gesellschaften? Weshalb ist die chinesische Dokumentarliteratur über dieses Thema immer heikel gewesen? Als Beispiel wird das Werk von Nałkowskas „Medaliony“ als Musterwerk zu Changs Werk genommen. Die vorliegende Seminararbeit konzentriert sich auf das Werk und gliedert sich in drei Teile. Im zweiten Kapitel wird auf den historischen Hintergrund während der Okkupationszeit in Polen sowie die polnische Staatslosigkeit während des Generalgouvernements und China eingegangen. Es wird ein visionäres politisches sowie geschichtliches Schaubild vorgestellt. Im dritten Kapitel wird auf das Werk von Nałkowska und ihre Erfahrungen während der Okkupationszeit in Warschau eingegangen. Im vierten Teil wird auf das Werk von Chang eingegangen, dazu wird die Abstammung von Chang und den Einfluss ihres Werks vorgestellt. Außerdem werden Ursprung und Zustand der Debatte über Nanking Massaker diskutiert. Dabei wird verglichen, wieso die in Krieg und Okkupation erlittenen Leiden sowie der Terror der Okkupationsmächte in Europa stärker etabliert und weniger umstritten ist als in China. Im fünften Kapitel wird zusammengefasst und eine Hypothese der Entwicklungsneigung der literarischen Gattungen über Kriegserfahrungen während des Zweiten Weltkriegs in China gestellt.

The Russian Great Reforms of the 1860s were the last major modernizing effort by the Romanov dynasty. From 1855 to 1861, Grand Duchess Elena, born Princess Charlotte of Württemberg (1807-1873), acted as the spokeswoman for the reform-minded circles of Russian society, bringing before her nephew Emperor Alexander II a group of civic-minded experts who formed the core of the committee that prepared the greatest and most complex of the reforms, the abolition of serfdom in Russia. Privatization the transfer of responsibility for public services from the public to the private sector currently evokes intense interest from policy makers. To its advocates, privatization conjures up visions of a lean, streamlined public sector reliant upon the private marketplace for the delivery of public services. To opponents, it conjures up visions of a beleaguered government bureaucracy ceding vital public services to unreliable entrepreneurs. At best, privatization can reduce the costs of government and introduce new possibilities for the better delivery of services. At worst, it may undermine equity, quality, and accountability. In Privatization and Its Alternatives distinguished scholars from several social science disciplines evaluate privatization efforts in the United States and abroad, and at different levels of government: federal, state, and local. They look primarily at three important policy areas education, housing, and law enforcement that sharply illustrate the dilemmas facing policy makers as the debate about privatization shifts from the delivery of hard services, such as refuse collection, to human services. Contributors have very different perspectives: some are enthusiastic about privatization, others are very skeptical indeed. None of these papers has been published elsewhere; the volume developed from a 1987 conference on privatization sponsored by the La Follette Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin Madison. A particular strength of this collection lies in its consideration of alternative forms of service delivery. The privatization of public housing, for instance, may involve subsidies to the poor (vouchers), tenant management (a hybrid form of privatization), or outright sale. How, and how well, have such policies worked?
