Der Staatsstreichversuch vom 20. Juli 1944 war der Höhepunkt von zahlreichen Versuchen, das NS-Regime zu stürzen. Das mißlungene Attentat wurde zum Auftakt einer großangelegten Verhaftungs- und Prozeßwelle gegen Gegner des Regimes. Er analysiert die Darstellungen der Widerstandskämpfer in diesen Berichten exemplarisch anhand von vier maßgeblich am Umsturzversuch beteiligten Persönlichkeiten und vergleicht sie mit ihren ursächlichen ethischen Beweggründen
