Die in diesem Band versammelten Arbeiten zur Soziologie und Bevölkerungs wissenschaft von Hans Linde (geb. 1913) geben Auskunft über 50 Jahre empiri scher Sozialforschung in Deutschland. Diese, Werkstücke" haben nicht nur we gen ihrer Themen und Befunde Erinnerungswert, sondern auch wegen ihres für Linde typischen Forschungsstils. Da der Autor hierüber in seiner Einführung selbst Auskunft gibt, sei hier nur hervorgehoben, daß sich Hans Linde seine em pirische Arbeitsweise nie durch die Dogmatik einer Schule oder die Schablonen einer Methodik hat vorgeben lassen. "Hin zu den Sachen selbst" (Edmund Hus serl) kann als seine Forschungsmaxime gelten. Diese Forschungspragmatik hat Linde nicht als Rezeptur propagiert, sondern in seinen Untersuchungen praktiziert. Das Wechselspiel von "Justierung der Be griffe" und nüchterner Spurensuche, das sich durch alle seine empirischen Arbei ten zieht, erlaubte ihm, auch sperrige soziale Sachverhalte präzise auf den Begriff zu bringen: "generative Strukturen", "Sachdominanz in Sozialstrukturen", "po lylogische Felder" oder "Rekonkretisierung" sind hierfür Beispiele, die sich über die Soziologie und Bevölkerungswissenschaft hinaus durchgesetzt haben, auch wenn der Urheber dabei häufig ungenannt blieb. Hans Linde hat an der Universität Karlsruhe (bis 1967 Technische Hochschule) seit 1962 das Institut für Soziologie aufgebaut und bis 1981 geleitet. Er gehört zu den Mitbegründern des Instituts für Regionalwissenschaft dieser Universität.

Es wird kompakt geschildert, wie die Vorgehensweise eines Forschungsprojektes gegliedert ist, welche Instrumente dabei zur Verfügung stehen bzw. welche Faktoren berücksichtigt werden müssen, um ein Projekt in dieser Art umzusetzen. Im Anschluss wird das Forschungsprojekt des Fallbeispiels analysiert. Dabei wird auf die möglichen Stärken und Schwächen des Projektes eingegangen, die Wirkung des Ergebnisses analysiert und die Herausforderungen aufgezeigt, welche jedes Forschungsprojekt mit sich bringt. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, ein Forschungsprojekt zu definieren, die Vorgehensweise darzustellen und die Stärken und Schwächen des Fallbeispiels herauszufiltern und auszuwerten. Eine knappe aber aussagekräftige Definition des Begriffs des Forschungsprojekt wird von Herrn Prof. Ernst Halbmayer, sowie von Frau Dr. Jana Salat sehr präzise dargestellt. Ein Forschungsprojekt ist eine zeitlich begrenzte und zielgerichtete Unternehmung, die zur Bearbeitung neuer Fragestellungen bzw. Probleme eingerichtet wird und mit bestimmten, häufig begrenzten Ressourcen wie z. B. Arbeitsmittel, Zeit, Geld, MitarbeiterInnen und Infrastruktur ausgestattet ist. Unter einem Forschungsprojekt versteht man zusätzlich ein spezifisches, zielgerichtetes, von einer Forschungsfrage geleitetes Verfahren, zur Generierung von neuem Wissen und Erkenntnissen.

The first classics in human history—the early works of literature, philosophy, and theology to which we have returned throughout the ages—appeared in the middle centuries of the first millennium bce. The core of the book is the presentation of a systematic, continuous and logical chain into the coupled total energy system (GES) of the future, which will lead to the fully sustainable use of renewable energies. Thus, unified models are proposed that are applicable to the subsystems/sectors throughout and allow the optimization of the entire GES. Appropriate algorithms and approaches are illustrated with numerous examples. This is embedded in the context of efforts to fully integrate energy generated from renewable sources into the GES. The overarching role of IT systems for secure operations has been emphasized in the book. The relevance of the correct mapping of technologies to use cases is elaborated and necessary steps derived from this are considered technically and organizationally (standardization). Special attention is paid to the didactic presentation of the material in order to present this new, difficult and complex problem "as simple as possible, but not simpler" [according to Einstein].
