Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Theorien, Modelle, Begriffe, Note: 2,0, Philipps-Universität Marburg (Institut für Neuere deutsche Literatur und Medien ), Veranstaltung: Pierre Bourdieu, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit möchte ich das Distinktionspotential des europäischen Films, auf den Texten Bourdieus aufbauend, untersuchen. Aufgrund fehlenden Datenmaterials werde ich mich weitgehend auf die eigenen Analysen von Filmen in Abgleich zu Bourdieus theoretischen Überlegungen berufen. Des Weiteren möchte ich anhand dieses Beispiels zur Beschreibung allgemeiner Strukturen des kulturellen Feldes gelangen. Ein Hauptaugenmerk wird dabei der Stereotyp des ‚Linksintellektuellen’ sein. Die Schlussbetrachtung stellt dabei die Thesen Bourdieus in Beziehung zu ihm als Autor selbst. Ziel ist hier eine Auseinandersetzung zwischen dem Selbstentwurf Bourdieus als Soziologe in marxistischer Tradition und der simultanen Privilegierung durch das akademische Feld. Dabei soll es vor allem um den Machtbegriff Bourdieus gehen, der in einer weitergehenden Analyse dem Machtbegriff Foucaults gegenüber gestellt werden soll. Zunächst möchte ich jedoch kurz auf das Leben und Werk Pierre Bourdieus näher eingehen: Am 1. August 1930 wird Pierre Bourdieu in Denguin im Departement Pyrénées Atlantiques geboren. Dort verbringt der Sohn eines Bauern und späteren Postbeamten den größten Teil seiner frühen Jugend. Einem Studium an der Sorbonne und der École Normale Supérieure folgt eine kurze Lehrertätigkeit, der sich eine Forschungsprofessur in Algier (1958-1960), sowie eine Professur an der Sorbonne (1960-1961) anschließen. Zu Begin der 1960er Jahre gelangt er an die Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, dort ist er zunächst Assistent am Centre de Sociologie Européenne, zu dessen Direktor er 1964 ernannt wird. 1982 wird er auf den Lehrstuhl für Soziologie am Collège de France berufen, der prestigeträchtigsten Bildungsinstitution Frankreichs. Bourdieu starb am 23. Januar 2002 in Paris (vgl. Bohn / Hahn 2003: 252 f). Bourdieu ist gekennzeichnet durch eine kritische Reflexion der Rolle des Intellektuellen: Bruch aber auch mit der intellektualistischen Illusion, als bilde die vom Wissenschaftler entworfene theoretische Klasse eine reale Klasse oder tatsächlich mobilisierte Gruppe; [...] Intellektualismus, [der] die symbolischen Auseinandersetzungen und Kämpfe unterschlägt, die innerhalb der verschiedenen Felder ausgetragen werden ...
