Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2021 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensführung, Management, Organisation, Note: 1,8, Steinbeis-Hochschule Berlin, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Forschungsfrage, ob die Berücksichtigung der Unternehmenskultur oder die Kultur von Mitarbeitern eine wichtigere Rolle dabei spielt, wie erfolgreich ein Unternehmen seine Veränderungen - beziehungsweise „Changes“ - umsetzt und welche Schlüsselfaktoren für die Optimierung erforderlich sind. Zunächst wird der Fokus auf das Wesen des CMs und dessen Korrelation mit den kulturellen Dimensionen in einem Unternehmen gesetzt. Hierfür werden theoretische Grundlagen beider Themengebiete mit Hilfe von Modellen und Studien erörtert und abgebildet. Im Anschluss daran werden die erlangten Erkenntnisse den Ergebnissen zweier Experteninterviews gegenübergestellt und nachfolgend kritisch reflektiert, damit die Hypothese, ob die Unternehmens- oder die Mitarbeiterkultur wichtiger für den Erfolg von Transformationen ist, beleuchtet werden kann. Daraus erfolgt abschließend eine Conclusio samt Beantwortung der Forschungsfrage sowie eine Handlungsempfehlung hierfür, ehe die Arbeit ihr Ende findet. Organisationen müssen sich heute nicht nur schneller, sondern kontinuierlich an die sich ständig wandelnden Anforderungen des ökonomischen Umfelds anpassen, um erfolgreich am Markt zu agieren. Die immer fortschreitende Entwicklung eines schnelllebigen und immer schärfer werdenden Wettbewerbsumfeldes bedeutet für Unternehmen einen enormen Anpassungsdruck, um weiterhin auf dem Markt bestehen zu können. Vor diesem Hintergrund scheint es offensichtlich, welche Bedeutung dem CM zugeschrieben wird, um Veränderungsprozesse aktiv und erfolgreich zu gestalten.

Ende der 60er Jahre beschäftigte ich mich eher zufällig mit kulturellen Unterschiede- und stieß dabei auf umfangreiches Material für eine Studie. Als Ergebnis dieser Studie wurde im Jahr 1980 ein Buch zu diesem Thema mit dem Titel Culture's Consequences veröffentlicht. Es war bewußt für ein Fachpublikum geschrieben, denn es weckte Zweifel an der Allgemeingültigkeit traditioneller Lehren der Psychologie, Organisationssoziolo gie und Manag!!menttheorie: ich mußte daher sowohl die theoretische Argumentation darlegen, als auch Basisdaten und die statistischen Verfahren angeben, an hand derer ich meine Thesen aufstellte. Die 1984 erschienene Taschenbuchausgabe verzichtete auf Basisdaten und Statistik, war ansonsten aber mit der gebundenen Ausgabe von 1980 identisch. Culture's Consequences erschien in einer Zeit, als das Interesse an kulturellen Unterschie den sowohl zwischen Ländern als auch zwischen Organisationen rapide anstieg; es gab damals kaum empirisch gestützte Informationen zu diesem Thema. Die Unterschiede zwischen Ländern waren zwar auch in dem vorherigen Buch enthalten, aber vielleicht waren es zu viele auf einmal. Offensichtlich haben sich viele Leser nur mit einem Teil des Inhalts befaßt. Viele Leute, die sich auf das Buch berufen, behaupten beispielsweise, ich hätte die Wertvorstellungen von IBM-(oder "Hermes-") Führungskräften untersucht. Die von mir verwendeten Daten bezogen sich auf IBM-Mitarbeiter, und wie das Buch selbst zeigte, ist dies ein erheblicher Unterschied.

For the topic of national culture the culture model of Hofstede is still representative but this theory is meanwhile out of date and there exist newer models which give new insights in this specific topic. This paper gives an overview about the model of Hofstede and two newer theories with regard to a created thesis. The models exhibit several differences which enable to survey the topic national culture under a variety of aspects. The conclusion makes clear that other aspects should be also considered beside the cultural differences especially in business relationships. In the late 1960s and the early 1970s a Dutch social researcher named Geert Hofstede conducted about the influences of national culture in the workplace. Until this point of time his study was the most extensive one in this specific field of research. In the following decades additional surveys carried out and were more and more popular. They built on Hofstede’s culture model and modify it. For example the culture dimensions of Alfons Trompenaars or the globe study. In the following essay Hofstede’s model should be examined with the help of prevailing research results, transpire comparisons and differences. This subject of national culture should be considered consistently with leadership.
