D’abord avec le concours du Théâtre des Amandiers, les élèves de quatre classes d’une école primaire de Nanterre ont créé les personnages, les récits, les sons et les images de leurs « dessins animés ». Quelques mois plus tard, les 88 enfants de 8 à 12 ans d’un centre de vacances, ont suivi le même itinéraire. Quelles sont les conditions nécessaires à ce type d’expérience ? Quels rapports les enfants entretiennent-ils avec les techniques d’expression des différents moments de la création ? Que racontent les films des enfants, quelle vision du monde communiquent-ils ? Les structures d’accueil ne sont pas neutres. Les habitudes scolaires sont-elles en harmonie avec ce type d’expériences ? Les rapports entre les personnes, en centres de vacances, favorisent-ils la créativité et l’éclosion des êtres ? Telles sont les questions qu’aborde l’auteur de ce livre. Brigitte Michelet, Christine Soyez, Dominique Lacarrière, Marc Douaire et Philippe Sarre lui ont apporté leur concours. Chacune de ces deux expériences a également donné lieu à la réalisation d’un film sur le film.
