A proposta dessa coletânea é discutir a linguagem humana, se concentrando em modelos e teorias linguísticas, além de análises descritivas e processos de aquisição da gramática de uma língua. Em qualquer gramática há “níveis linguísticos” ou “interfaces da gramática”, como o prosódico, fonológico, fonético, morfológico, sintático, semântico e pragmático. O interesse é analisar como esses níveis se interagem, já que sua divisão parece ser apenas um fator didático: ou seja, a ordem de uma língua não depende apenas do nível sintático, ela também é influenciada pela prosódia. Ou quando o foco influencia na “marca” do referente discursivo ou quando o elemento morfológico indicativo de gerúndio possibilita uma leitura semântica diferenciada. Ou seja, queremos saber como a gramática trabalha nas interfaces, como as interfaces influenciam umas às outras, operam em harmonia, possibilitam uma gramática. Este primeiro volume de As interfaces da Gramática explora três interfaces: a relação entre a (i) sintaxe-semântica-pragmática, (ii) sintaxe-prosódia- estrutura informacional, (iii) sintaxe- morfologia. Além dessas, uma parte é dedicada à aquisição da linguagem em relação às interfaces linguísticas e extralinguísticas. Os capítulos são distribuídos em dois grupos (o básico e o avançado): no básico, os textos podem ser usados em sala de aula (graduação e pós-graduação) com exposição de conceitos básicos dentro da linguística, com os quais se torna possível uma ciência da linguagem, além de analisar alguns estudos feitos sobre o português brasileiro (PB). No avançado, os conceitos linguísticos também são trabalhados, porém alguns autores exploram certos modelos teóricos, trazendo reflexões avançadas sobre fenômenos linguísticos do PB e de outras línguas, com experimentos com falantes nativos. Dessa forma, este livro destaca a importância do estudioso da área tanto em dominar conceitos básicos dentro da linguística, discriminando-os (estudos básicos) quanto discutir modelos teóricos ou experimentos realizados (estudos avançados).
