Arte, architettura, urbanistica e spazio pubblico diretta da Patrizia Ferri L’Utopia Praticabile è un progetto itinerante all’insegna delle interazioni disciplinari, che si addentra nelle problematiche e nella complessità relazionale del variegato ambito metropolitano per attivare sinergie e collaborazioni tra autori e campi disciplinari diversi, teorici ed operativi, secondo un principio che ispiri un’arte, un’architettura e un’urbanistica come processi partecipati per una qualità diffusa e sostenibile. Il concetto di utopia, su cui si incentra la manifestazione, si confronta con una città come Roma, con tutte le sue criticità, da sempre in bilico tra passato e futuro, che rappresenta emblematicamente la metropoli contemporanea, luogo permanente di conflitti e confronti tra realtà culturali, umane e necessità produttive. I progetti ideati interpretano l’ambigua etimologia del termine, ovvero un’utopia come “non luogo” e insieme luogo del compimento della felicità, dove il tutto e la parte dovrebbero essere pensati per il bene del singolo e della comunità. L’utopia praticabile pone l’attenzione su quelle problematiche e dinamiche generate dal continuo modificarsi dell’identità metropolitana, prefigurando auspicabili trasformazioni sociali responsabili, nella prospettiva di una nuova estetica urbana capace di incidere realisticamente sulla riprogettazione delle politiche culturali in termini sperimentali, all’insegna di un rinnovato “diritto alla città” (H. Michel Foucault defined critique as an exercise in de-subjectivation. To what extent did this claim shape his philosophical practice? What are its theoretical and ethical justifications? Why did Foucault come to view the production of subjectivity as a key site of political and intellectual emancipation in the present? Andrea Rossi pursues these questions in The Labour of Subjectivity. The book re-examines the genealogy of the politics of subjectivity that Foucault began to outline in his lectures at the Collège de France in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He explores Christian confession, raison d’état, biopolitics and bioeconomy as the different technologies by which Western politics has attempted to produce, regulate and give form to the subjectivity of its subjects. Ultimately Rossi argues that Foucault’s critical project can only be comprehended within the context of this historico-political trajectory, as an attempt to give the extant politics of the self a new horizon.
