Panorama of Rural Poverty in Latin America and the Caribbean 2018, published by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), addresses the important challenges faced by the region in developing its rural territories to achieve the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, particularly SDG 1 to end poverty in all its forms everywhere. After many years of progress, poverty and extreme rural poverty in the region have started to increase again. This is worrying news for countries of the region and the international community because, if they do not return to the path of rural poverty reduction, millions of people will be excluded from the opportunity to contribute to the development of their families, communities and countries. The 33 Member States of the United Nations in the region have pledged their commitment to eradicating rural poverty by 2030 and, despite the recent trend, it is still possible to achieve this goal. This report also highlights the persistence of significant gaps between rural and urban areas, which is incompatible with sustainable and equitable development. Of the 169 targets of the Sustainable Development Goals, 132 require actions that must be carried out in rural territories.

Hace un tiempo nos propusimos fundar una revista en la cual se trabajasen temáticas relacionadas con los Pueblos Originarios. Este desafío no fue menor ya que dentro de una cantidad acérrima de opciones necesitábamos decir algo nuevo, o en su grado mínimo, algo con pretensión de nuevo. Es así como discutimos la creación de esta revista. Uturunku Achachi no es sólo una revista más en un océano de publicaciones que miran a nuestros pueblos como un objeto. Pretendemos decir en el espacio académico que ya basta de negarnos como pueblos. La revista llegó a la conclusión de que si vamos a trabajar acerca de nuestros Pueblos Originarios lo haríamos reconociéndonos como una realidad tangible, presente, que vivimos día a día. La occidentalización de nuestra América trajo consigo una idea errónea de universalidad. Esta tierra no puede ser universal, esta tierra se constituye de una infinidad de diálogos que transitan, que se reproducen, que se confrontan. Pretender unificar el pensamiento no es sino la prueba idónea de la Colonialidad que impera hasta nuestros días. Compartimos una tierra, hemos unificado luchas, hemos sido capaces de reencontrarnos como hermanos de una misma madre. En ese sinfín de diálogos es dónde consideramos que está lo importante: nuestra diversidad. Porque a diferencia de lo que propuso Occidente, somos unapatria pluricultural, y no nos podemos regir por un universo sino por un pluriverso que entiende la relevancia de nuestras cosmovisiones. Y lo repetimos: la relevancia de esa diversidad; porque en nuestra América no hemos llegado al fin de la historia y aún nuestras distinciones son algo a lo que le damos importancia.

À certaines périodes de l'année, au moment du pelurage par exemple, là où l'activité requerrait le plus de bras, il fallait compter autant de personnes manouvriers, femmes, enfants, gens de passage qui venaient s'ajouter à la pratique de l'artisanat local. Au moment où paraît le présent livre, il reste un seul vannier en activité, et le nombre de personnes ayant travaillé l'osier se compte sur les doigts de la main. D'où l'intérêt de rassembler photos et écrits, souvenirs et mémoires de ces hommes, témoins et acteurs de cette activité locale.

Es imposible «no sentir». Los profesionales saben cómo funcionan estos productos, el know-how, pero entender los motivos por los que se mueven, el know-why da una mejor opción de desarrollar experiencias diferenciadas y, con ello, una mayor competitividad empresarial. Los clientes desarrollan al mismo tiempo una mayor exigencia vivencial y provocan con ello un cambio de paradigmas en la gestión de empresas que quieren posicionarse en los mercados emergentes de experiencias y emociones. Ya existen empresas y profesionales que han iniciado este camino que, no solamente modificaría los conceptos de servicios en general sino también impulsará una nueva ética que acompañará la necesaria innovación empresarial. Sin embargo, la resistencia de antiguos modelos que se niegan a desaparecer pueden entorpecer estos procesos. El autor propone un nuevo concepto que renombre la unidad vivencial indisoluble entre la emoción y la experiencia: «emperiencia» o «emperience»... del que nadie saldrá indemne.
