ACERCA DEL AUTOR: Nací en diciembre al final de los años 80, por lo que se puede decir que solo rocé los años 80 durante unos pocos días. Mi vida no ha sido muy diferente a la de cualquier otra persona, crecí cuando las consolas empezaban a despegar y cuando los ordenadores eran algo que solo unos pocos privilegiados podían tener. A muy temprana edad me empezó a interesar todo el mundo de los videojuegos, sobre todo el Rol y la Fantasía, juegos como Warcraft o Diablo, juegos que solo podía ver en casa de algún amigo u ocasionalmente en algún Ciber con ordenadores viejos y muy usados. Hasta que un día llegó a mis manos un libro muy gastado que ni siquiera tenía tapa, libro el cual ya ni siquiera recuerdo cómo se titulaba, pero que despertó en mí la curiosidad sobre la literatura. The book, to be sure, is hardly a systematic account of the institution; the author pursued moral, philosophical, and rhetorical objectives, and, while saying a lot that seems now to be of little value, manages somehow to leave unsaid a great deal that would be of interest for us. Nevertheless, it represents, even in its peculiar form, a really important source of information about the stock exchange, and indeed about the Dutch business world of that period.
