Tra le proposte: l’attivazione in tutte le biblioteche dei servizi al cittadino; il coinvolgimento di fasce d’utenza giovanili e la costituzione di un soggetto giuridico con una convenzione tra gli Enti coinvolti (Comuni e Regione siciliana) funzionante come nuovo Polo Bibliografico; accrescimento professionale degli operatori bibliotecari e introduzione di nuove figure professionali (addetto stampa) in previsione della gestione di nuovi servizi all’utenza. L’Autore si augura che questo volume pubblicato per rendere più agevole la conoscenza delle biblioteche possa costituire uno stimolo per la classe politica locale e regionale al fine di favorire la riflessione per il rilancio di queste strutture. La biblioteca che verrà insomma diventa una struttura guida alla vita collettiva, ai servizi sociali, alla migliore conoscenza dell’attività delle istituzioni locali.
