“La biografia della Forza” è una raccolta di aneddoti che riguardano la vita di 12 personaggi storici che hanno avuto difficoltà personali, sociali, fisiche, ma che comunque, grazie alla forza della loro Volontà e dei loro Sogni, sono riusciti a raggiungere i loro obiettivi. Fra questi ci sono Aldous Huxley ( che era cieco e ha scritto “l’arte di vedere”), Beethoven ma anche Gandhi, Pasteur ed altri personaggi. Il filo conduttore è sempre la Volontà dei propri sogni che vince sulle difficoltà e circostanze. Nel testo vengono analizzati con scrupolo intimi dettagli della vita di uomini che grazie alle loro pulsioni personali, speranze e sogni, spesso dettati da atti del tutto irrazionali, sono riusciti a piegare il corso della storia e a incanalarla in una direzione ben precisa. ( il caso di Rasputin, Napoleone e Cortés sono molto approfonditi in questo senso ) Ne traspare, pur tacitamente, che la Forza è la capacità che le potenze irrazionali e passionali travalichino i dettati della ragione e ne valichino gli ostacoli e che infine questa Forza non sia individuale, ma che sia addirittura sia sovra-umana, extra-umana. L’intera Storia è nelle mani di un manipolo di uomini che in ogni secolo, in ogni campo, compiono rivoluzioni tali da ridisegnare tutto quello in cui crediamo: le leggi, i costumi, le teorie filosofiche e scientifiche, i rapporti umani e le istituzioni. Questo manipolo di uomini è accomunato dal sentirsi chiamato a una missione conferitagli da una Volontà Superiore.

During the sixteenth century, antiquarian studies (the study of the material past, comprising modern archaeology, epigraphy, and numismatics) rose in Europe in parallel to the technical development of the printing press. Some humanists continued to prefer the manuscript form to disseminate their findings – as numerous fair copies of sylloges and treatises attest –, but slowly the printed medium grew in popularity, with its obvious advantages but also its many challenges. As antiquarian printed works appeared, the relationship between manuscript and printed sources also became less linear: printed copies of earlier works were annotated to serve as a means of research, and printed works could be copied by hand – partially or even completely. This book explores how antiquarian literature (collections of inscriptions, treatises, letters...) developed throughout the sixteenth century, both in manuscript and in print; how both media interacted with each other, and how these printed antiquarian works were received, as attested by the manuscript annotations left by their early modern owners and readers.

La seconda parte del libro è dedicata a un’approfondita analisi delle tre aree mediali del Web di oggi: l’area della conoscenza e condivisione (dai motori di ricerca alle enciclopedie online, sino alla nuova didattica rappresentata dall’e-learning), l’area del business (e-commerce come strategia di e-business, marketing virale e web advertising come strumenti di web marketing) e l’area delle relazioni sociali (social media e blog, colonne portanti del Web 2.0). Il libro comprende oltre 30 focus, approfondimenti relativi a casi concreti – tutti legati al Web – di storie di successo o particolarmente significative.
