Dans l'histoire de diplomatie l'Europe (essentiellement la France) et les États-Unis jouent un rôle indispensable qui peut ressembler à une prédominance occidentale dans les aspects de diplomatie. Et même aujourd'hui, si on traite la question de démocratie, de droits de l'homme ou d'économie, il semble que les valeurs occidentales sont dominantes. La question traitée par le dossier suivant est laquelle de l'influence d'identité occidentale pour la position des États dans le grand jeu de diplomatie. En suivant la méthode d'analyse de sources primaires et secondaires dans l'espace de politics le plan thématique de dossier se compose d'un section qui explique les termes diplomatie et occident, un section pour la question de l'histoire diplomatique, et d'un section pour la question d'influence aujourd'hui avec un regard sur des acteurs et de l'influence occidental avant qu'il finisse avec une conclusion. Les sources utilisées sont les dictionnaires, en même que plusieurs sources de l'ONU, de l'OCDE, de l'OTAN et les oeuvres de Berridge, Afiron et de Barston concernant la diplomatie bien qu'il plusieurs oeuvres historiques.
