English summary: In Luther's preface to the Psalter, in which he praises the Psalter overall as the book of books, an old tradition lingered on. This tradition has died out, and the more recent reference to the Psalms appears epigonic. There are, however, dissenting voices. The textualization of the Psalms has resulted in a Psalter theology, its decline has led to different Psalter styles, and in view of its imminent disappearance, the Psalter arts, iconography, music and poetics illustrate the fact that even if the Psalms ceased to exist, nevertheless they cannot not be (1-3). The outline of a Psalter theology provides an answer to this problem. Iconography, music and poetics have left their mark on the figurative, musical and poetic elements of the language in Psalms ( 4.6.8) and conversely when examined in view of their own language, the language of images, the language of music and the language of language (5.7.9), they become a complete unmistakeable memory trail. And it is when these forms of art interact that the Psalter comes into being. German description: Psalterspiel wendet sich den Psalmen weder in exegetischem, noch in praktischem, sondern in systematisch-theologischem Interesse zu.Es gibt zwar im Rahmen der ublichen Arbeitsfelder der exegetischen Wissenschaften einige wenige Veroffentlichungen, die sich der Aufgabe einer 'Theologie der Psalmen' widmen, aber die Stelle einer 'Theologie des Psalters ' ist - trotz gesteigerter Nachfrage seit der Wende zur sog. kanonischen Psalmenexegese - bisher unbesetzt. Auch mit vorliegendem Buch wird keineswegs der Anspruch einer Theologie des Psalters erhoben. Wohl aber verbindet sich damit die Absicht, Sitz und Umriss einer solchen, falls sie denn unternommen werden sollte, moglichst genau zu skizzieren. Dazu muss die Ebene der Alttestamentlichen Wissenschaft uberschritten werden.Dies geschieht in der Praktischen Theologie, in erster Linie in der Liturgiewissenschaft. Hier hat der Psalter als Modell aller liturgischen Aktionen und als Archiv liturgischer Texte seinen unverzichtbaren Ort. Aber eine e Theologie des Psalters' bringt auch sie nicht hervor. Daher muss auch diese Ebene uberschritten werden. Das vitale Interesse der Systematischen Theologie an ' Theologie des Psalters' hat seine Ursache darin, dass diese auf die fundamentale Frage 'Was ist Theologie?' schwerlich eine Antwort oder nur eine unzureichende zu geben vermochte, ohne zuvor beim Psalter in die Schule gegangen zu sein. Hier jedoch widerfahrt ihr, dass sie durch lauter Nicht-Theologien, durch Ikonik, Musik und Poetik, soweit sie sich mit und an dem Psalter gebildet haben, uber sich selbst in Kenntnis gesetzt wird.
