El objetivo de este libro es establecer relaciones entre los referentes teóricos que enmarcan la economía social y solidaria en América Latina y el territorio. Para lograrlo, se hizo un examen documental sobre la evolución en el tiempo de dichos conceptos. Esta revisión teórica se acompaña de la socialización de estudios sobre prácticas de la economía social y solidaria en los territorios en Colombia. Dada la diversidad que representa la economía social y solidaria, así como los mismos territorios en América Latina, no se puede hablar de una sola forma de hacer, para lograr las transformaciones que se requieren para conseguir un buen vivir. Desde el enfoque de territorio, cualquier proyecto de economía social y solidaria debe asumir su papel transformador, teniendo en cuenta que: 1) el territorio es un espacio de poder; 2) el territorio es una construcción social; y 3) en el espacio concurren y se sobreponen distintas territorialidades. Es importante considerar la construcción de un proyecto nacional de economía social y solidaria que responda preguntas como: ¿cuáles son los territorios de la economía social y solidaria? ¿Cuáles son los territorios reales, los territorios vividos, los territorios legales, los territorios posibles y los territorios pensados? ¿Cuáles son los espacios de vida soñados por la economía social y solidaria?

Los seminarios y el libro son parte del componente de educación para la transformación social de un Programa financiado por la Agencia Vasca de Cooperación para el Desarrollo, que tiene por objeto apoyar iniciativas en torno a la economía social y solidaria y los derechos económicos de las mujeres incidiendo en políticas públicas, particularmente en la región andina, donde se han desarrollado la mayor parte de las acciones (Bolivia, Ecuador y Perú), pero también en el campo de la investigación, capacitación y gestión del conocimiento como parte de dicho componente. Precisamente esta experiencia acumulada de las autoras y autores ha permitido articular contenidos que tienen enfoques globales en algunos casos, y territoriales o regionales en otros, abordando la economía solidaria y la economía feminista desde diferentes perspectivas y entrando en contenidos novedosos que amplían el conocimiento de estas otras economías. Coraggio, Laville, Guridi y Pérez de Mendiguren inciden sobre conceptos y propuestas en políticas públicas, universidad, organizaciones e instituciones, desde una visión más global que después se pueden aplicar en países o territorios concretos.
