Bertini Se poi dalla induzione passiamo all'esperienza, e dai ragionamenti ai fatti, lnstavo della filosofia italiana ci apparisce ben piu deplm abile di quel che si fosse potuto imaginare. E incominciando dai professori, egli 'e notorio che le catedre, per la massima parte, veni. Vano e' cherici affidate. Ma quale filosofia, Dio buono! Doveva insegnarsi mai da siffatti professori? Quella, e solo quella riveduta emendata e approvata dai legi timi Superiori, cioe dei Vescovi cioe dal Papa. Ora dove sono due termini piu opposti e ripugnanti fra loro, che papa e filosofia? La filosofia e la ragione il Papa e l'autorita; la filosofia e il libero esame, il Papa e la fede cieca; la filosofia e il progresso della scienza, il Papa e' l'immobilita dell'ignoranza; la filosofia e l'eco della natura, il Papa e l'oracolo della rivelazione;ontle la filosofia e la negazione del Papa oumeil Papa e la negazione della filosofia. Quindi Insegnamento obe rit-ale era quel che doveva essere: una crociata contro la filosofia. La quale veniva rappresentata come l'ori gine prima e la cagione precipua di tuttii mali, di tutti li errori, che atrigono: e dimorano il genere mucho. Da lei i rivolgimenti politici e i disordini civili; da lei la sfrenatezza de' popoli e la caduta degli stati; da lei la correzione de' cuflumi, il disprezzo delle leggi, l'o dio della religione, la perdita della fede, e tutti i guai della vita presente e della futura: Cosi la filosofia nelli; mani del clero non dovea servire ad altro, che a pro vare l'impotenza e la follia della ragione; e' nel suo linguaggio il nome di filosofo era divenuto sinonimo di ampio o pazzo!
