La Gatomaquia es un poema satírico de Félix Lope de Vega. Apareció en 1634, al final de la vida de Lope con el seudónimo de Tomé de Burguillos. La obra tiene 2.802 versos y se divide en 7 silvas. Lope de Vega escribió varios poemas épicos, entre ellos Dragontea, Isidro y Jerusalén conquistada. Sin embargo, La Gatomaquia se diferencia del resto por su carácter cómico. Aquí se relata una historia de amor, celos y venganzas entre gatos, provocados por el amor de Marramaquiz a la hermosa Zapaquilda. En cambio Zapaquilda, se siente atraída por los encantos de Micifuf y Marramaquiz, al verse desdeñado, recurre, incluso, al mago Merlín y luego a Garfiñato, un asceta, que le aconseja: Y como Ovidio escribe en su Epistolio, que no me acuerdo el folio, estas heridas del amor protervas no se curan con yerbas; que no hay, para olvidar amor, remedio, como otro nuevo amor o tierra enmedio. Desdichado, Marramaquiz no se rinde. Tras peripecias irónicas, serenatas, desafíos y encantamientos, finalmente Marramaquiz rapta a Zapaquilda el día de su boda con Micifuf. Empieza entonces una guerra épica entre gatos partidarios de Marramaquiz y Micifuf. Al final uno de los amantes muere y el otro encuentra la felicidad junto a la bella Zapaquilda. La Gatomaquia tiene un antecedente cercano en España, en la Loa de la Pulga de Gutierre de Cetina.

La Gatomaquia, es un poema épico burlesco de Lope de Vega, que fue publicado un año antes de su fallecimiento, en 1634, bajo el seudónimo de Tomé de Burguillos. En esta ocasión la obra es heroicocómica, y tiene muy lejanos antecedentes formales, desde la Batracomiomaquia, hasta modelos italianos del Renacimiento, bien adaptados en España desde la Loa de la Pulga de Gutierre de Cetina, la Mosquea de Villaviciosa y otras.

La gatomaquia es un poema épico de Lope de Vega que representa una versión de la historia de Helena de Troya, solo con gatos. Los principales personajes son Zapaquilda, la bella felina y amada de Marramaquiz, quien rapta a Zapaquilda en el día de su boda con Micifuz. Se declara la guerra pero en el fin Micifuz y Zapaquilda se reúnen. Fue publicada por Lope de Vega bajo el pseudónimo de Tomé de Burguillos y antes de su muerte, en 1634. La respuesta de los críticos fue mixta.
