La denominada “guerrilla literaria” es un episodio de la historia cultural de Chile que tuvo como protagonistas a tres grandes exponentes de su poesía: Vicente Huidobro, Pablo de Rokha y Pablo Neruda. Los orígenes de la disputa, los antecedentes estéticos, políticos y de personalidad que la motivaron, las cartas, versos y textos que cruzaron la polémica están reunidos en este libro a partir de diversas instancias de investigación: la bibliográfica; la de diarios y revistas de la época que dan cuenta de los hechos y la testimonial, centrada en más de una quincena de entrevistados. El propósito de la autora en esta edición ha sido investigar las guerrillas que pudieran tener tanto el nivel como la extensión en el tiempo, además de la densidad y talento, que alcanzó aquella. Sin embargo, la conclusión sigue siendo que, en materia de peleas literarias, la protagonizada por los dos Pablos y Vicente no tiene aún competidores. Así, esta disputa, todo un clásico en la materia, vuelve en una edición corregida y ampliada a través de un quinto capítulo que da cuenta de varias escaramuzas centradas en uno de sus protagonistas, Neruda, en Nicanor Parra y en Roberto Bolaño.
