En este trabajo de fin de grado se busca estudiar la importancia que tiene la responsabilidad social corporativa en uno de los deportes más importantes de nuestro país, el fútbol. Aunque se suele asociar a la responsabilidad social corporativa al ámbito empresarial se va a observar como también influye en muchos otros aspectos. Actualmente, la importancia del deporte ha crecido de forma exponencial, ya que el público general busca obtener un mejor sistema inmunológico por la reciente situación pandémica. El deporte y el sector que lo rodea se encuentran en plena expansión, donde se crean puestos de trabajo en alrededor de 36.793 empresas relacionadas con el deporte. ¿Es conocido el término RSC dentro del sector deportivo? ¿Cuántos clubes llevan a cabo prácticas de RSC? El fútbol ha ido evolucionando y creciendo hasta llegar en nuestros días a ser mucho más que un evento deportivo. Su influencia en la economía y en la sociedad lo dotan de un poder de influencia muy grande. Por otro lado, la Responsabilidad Social Corporativa (RSC) ha avanzado hasta ser indispensable en todas las empresas incluyendo los clubes de fútbol profesional. Por ello cada vez más equipos de fútbol llevan a cabo estrategias socialmente responsables para mejorar su reputación e imagen y colaborar en la mejora de la sociedad. En este trabajo trataremos de analizar como un club de prestigio internacional como el Real Madrid C.F. aprovecha su posición de privilegio e implementa las políticas de RSC para mejorar la sociedad a través del deporte y el fútbol en particular. Por otro lado, veremos que a veces los equipos de fútbol solo piensan en ganar y en generar beneficios económicos lo que los lleva a comportarse de una manera poco responsable. Con todo esto queremos ver la importancia que está adquiriendo la RSC en los clubes de fútbol, así como todas aquellas prácticas que los equipos y sus dirigentes deben mejorar. Este libro aporta una Guía práctica para la efectiva implantación de la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial (RSE) en los clubes de fútbol, desde el convencimiento de que, más allá de su primaria labor como empresas que gestionan equipos profesionales en competiciones deportivas, aquéllos pueden llevar a cabo una excelente labor de liderazgo social y contribuir de manera directa a la mejora del entorno en el que operan y a la resolución de algunos de los desafíos más serios que tenemos planteados y que conforman la denominada Agenda 2030. Como contrapartida, los clubes ganarían imagen, fortalecerían su marca, incrementarían el intangible de la reputación. En definitiva, estarían sentando bases para la sostenibilidad, tanto propia cuanto ajena, cara al futuro. El público objetivo que puede sacar provecho de la lectura de este libro es amplio y variado. De una parte, están los gestores de los clubes; y de otra, los responsables que ejercen su papel desde las Administraciones con las que el fútbol se relaciona: el propio Ministerio, el Consejo Superior de Deportes, los directivos y gerentes de las federaciones y otros organismos homólogos… Por lo demás, el contenido del libro interesa también al mundo académico. De manera muy directa a los docentes, investigadores y estudiantes de diversas disciplinas englobadas en áreas de conocimiento como la Administración y Dirección de Empresas, el Derecho Deportivo, o las Ciencias de la Actividad Física y del Deporte. En general, esta obra puede ser de provecho a toda persona que lo lea con interés. Pero aportará más valor y lo hará de una forma mucho más directa si quien lo hace es un verdadero amante del fútbol, uno de esos aficionados que ven en su equipo algo más que un simple club y suscriba aquella frase lapidaria que la fina ironía de Bill Shankly nos dejó para la posteridad: «Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I’m very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that»(Algunos piensan que el fútbol es una cuestión de vida o muerte. Me decepciona esa actitud. Puedo asegurarles que es algo mucho más importante que todo eso). Y es cierto: el fútbol, entre otras cosas, constituye una inmejorable palanca de progreso social y de construcción de un mundo mejor —más justo y más humano— para todos. Actualmente, el fútbol ha trascendido la esfera deportiva y se ha convertido en un espectáculo con un gran impacto en la economía de los países. Además, los clubes de fútbol de alto nivel tienen una importante repercusión social y mediática, constituyendo también un magnífico instrumento de formación. Por ello, hoy en día, la Responsabilidad Social Corporativa (en adelante, RSC) también es aplicable a las organizaciones del sector deportivo en general y a los clubes de fútbol profesional en particular. En este contexto se articula el presente Trabajo Fin de Grado, cuya finalidad es analizar cómo los clubes de fútbol de alto nivel están contribuyendo al modelo de desarrollo social y sostenible que la sociedad está demandando en la actualidad. Para ello, se desarrollan los casos de los clubes Real Madrid C.F. y F.C. Barcelona, es decir, dos de las organizaciones deportivas más importantes del mundo en términos de valor económico, imagen de marca y volumen de aficionados, a fin de realizar un análisis comparativo entre ellas. Los resultados del estudio permitirán conocer si, efectivamente, ambos clubes están asumiendo un claro compromiso económico, social y/o medioambiental con su entorno, así como las posibles razones para hacerlo, a fin de comprender la importancia que la RSC está adquiriendo en la gestión de estas entidades deportivas.
