Nel 1948 nacque lo Stato d’Israele. Ma nel 1948 ebbe luogo anche la Nakba (‘catastrofe’), ovvero la cacciata di circa 250.000 palestinesi dalla loro terra. La vulgata israeliana ha sempre narrato che in quell’anno, allo scadere del Mandato britannico in Palestina, le Nazioni Unite avevano proposto di dividere la regione in due Stati: il movimento sionista era d’accordo, ma il mondo arabo si oppose; per questo, entrò in guerra con Israele e convince i palestinesi ad abbandonare i territori – nonostante gli appelli dei leader ebrei a rimanere – pur di facilitare l’ingresso delle truppe arabe. La tragedia dei rifugiati palestinesi, di conseguenza, non sarebbe direttamente imputabile a Israele. En septiembre de 2019 se estrenó el documental Hijas de la Nakba. A través de entrevistas a ocho mujeres palestinas, se mostraban las fechas y hechos más significativos de más de un siglo de colonización y ocupación de Palestina, así como las opresiones diarias a las que están expuestas, y su implicación en la lucha por la liberación nacional palestina. A raíz del nuevo episodio de genocidio desatado por Israel en octubre de 2023 sobre el pueblo palestino, hemos recogido estos testimonios en su totalidad, pudiendo realizar dos entrevistas más, completando hasta la decena estas voces de mujeres palestinas. Sus voces nos hablan de su resistencia a la colonización de sus tierras, a la ocupación y al apartheid al que Israel somete al pueblo palestino; de cómo plantan cara a un sistema patriarcal cuyo conservadurismo se fortalece y endurece con la ocupación; de cómo se enfrentan a una mirada occidental, eurocéntrica, llena de estereotipos, que las relega simplemente como mujeres sumisas, como números o como víctimas de un conflicto. Una mirada cargada también de racismo e islamofobia. El título alude a la Nakba o «catástrofe»: entre 1947 y 1949 el territorio de Palestina fue destruido y usurpado por el colonialismo sionista, que pretendía expulsar y reemplazar a los palestinos para instaurar el Estado de Israel, fundado en 1948. Sus tropas ejecutaron una limpieza étnica: entre 750.000 y 800.000 palestinos de todas las clases sociales, procedencias y credos fueron expulsados de sus hogares y tierras, y sus propiedades fueron robadas o destruidas para que no pudieran regresar nunca. Esta expulsión y expolio fue acompañada de matanzas como la de Deir Yassin, que el sionismo utilizaría para que cundiera el pánico entre la población y la expulsión fuera más «eficaz». Los relatos orales recogidos en Hijas de la Nakba constituyen un acto de reivindicación de la voz de las mujeres palestinas, así como de la existencia y resistencia del pueblo palestino, y la denuncia del genocidio que está cometiendo Israel.
