En este ensayo el lector encontrara un analisis etnomusical con una reflexion teorica e interpretativa tanto de la musica de tunditos, como de las practicas sociales en que este hecho sonoro produce. Si partimos del reconocimiento que el grupo etnico otomi que habita en los municipios Tierra Blanca, Doctor Mora y Victoria del noreste de Guanajuato, es un grupo al que muy poco tiempo e interes se le ha dedicado en la literatura antropologica, etnografica e incluso institucionalmente, entonces quedara de manifiesto que todo esfuerzo que se haga para estudiar, conservar y difundir el acervo cultural de que son depositarios, es importante. Este no es un trabajo de etnografia en el sentido clasico del termino. Tampoco es un libro de difusion cultural en el que el lector encuentre anecdotas y descripciones de la cultura local. Este trabajo es una reflexion densa en torno a las perspectivas de la antropologia contemporanea y la construccion de su objeto de estudio. Es una reflexion teorica para el etnomusicologo, y sobre todo, es la expresion de puntos de vista acerca del trabajo antropologico sujetos a discusion, que se sustentan en un estudio particular: el de la musica Otomi.
